Default Volcano SV Pro 6V Battery Pack

Please help. I just got my first of 2 Volcano SV Pro’s and they are not RTR. I guess I need to buy a NiMH 6v battery pack. My question is, there are so many options, which one will fit correctly and will I have to change out the connectors? Do they all come with chargers?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
JAM

Yes sir, they are RTR, Ready To Run means it comes with an engine and radio system. You still need to buy batteries, fuel, glow ignitor, fuel bottle, glow wrench, after run oil and air filter oil.

Pretty much any 6 volt hump pack will work.

Does the hump pack fit into the frame ok? It doesn't look like there is a lot of room to fit.

The SV Pro doesn't come with a battery holder to use double AA's, so i have to either order that AA holder part or buy the 6V battery pack. I'm sorry, but I don't consider that ready to run...I had all the other stuff you mentioned already to go. If I could have used AA's in place of the 6V battery pack, i would have a different opinion. But I'm very new to this and just learning, so i appreciate all your help.

Your trucks didn`t come with the aa battery holder inside the receiver slash battery box.Cause all 3 of my trucks did. Have you opened up the battery box yet to see.

I called Redcat and they said they stopped putting them in the SV Pro because so many people upgrade to the 6V battery pack...I'm not sure if he was telling me the truth or not, but i took his word. I took off both plates that cover the receiver and battery bay and there was nothing there.

Do you have the SV Pro's? I need someone to chat with that has some experience with this truck. Even the instruction manual shows the SV and not the SV Pro. I have no idea how i'm going to get a piece of paper between the gears for propper meshing.

Live and learn i guess![sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

soulds like a nice way to force you into a battery pack. My tsunami had the batterholder and I purchased a hump pack. Atleast if my pack goes dead I can still use AA's until i'm charged up.

I don`t own one but to save your self some money just buy the battery holders (unless you plan on driving lots)or spend the extra bit a get the rechargable hump packs. And as for the manual, the manuals are kind of generic they are for all of the certain trucks. My monsoon manual has the truggy parts and the mt parts listed. I know darin is working on new manuals. And I doubt redcat would lie to you, my trucks are close to a year old so maybe they did stop sending battery holders. You could always email darin . As for the rest the support in here is awesome so you are in good hands. And welcome to the hobby man enjoy.

Open up the reciever box and look inside to make sure it's not inside also make sure it's not in your transmitter box. Some times they have a piece of cardboard in the transmitter box and under that there could be a battery pack. If you don't have one call Redcat and ask for Nick and ask him if it should have come with a AA battery holder. If you need a battery holder I probablly have an extra one laying around in one of our dollar bins or in my tool box. Let me know.

I would bite the bullet and go for some hump packs and chargers, I picked up mine for $20 ea. otherwise you are looking at 24 AA batteries to run both trucks at once
