Default Jato twin spokes 2.8 rear and Talon 2.8 tires on my Volcano

Well i ended up rippin one of the stock wheels and cracked 2 other wheels (This is just from running on grass-. Went to LHS this morning and checked the wheels. so if anyone wants to upgrade the stock wheels, Jato Twin Spoke 2.8" rear will work for front and back. They are almost same shape and size as the stock. 12mm hex and mounting distance from back is almost the same as well. I didnt like the foam insert on the Talon 2.8. Felt way too soft, so I just used the stock foam from the tire. it's firmer and same width as the talon foam. I'll post pic on it once I clean the side tires and put CA glue on it and put it on the Volcano tonight.

Finally got some time to put the jato's on tonight. glued them and let it set. installed fairly easy. the hub is deep so I had to use a plyer 1st then 7mm hex to get the nut in there. did a slow and easy quick run just to break in the wheels.

By the way, the wheels were cheap. $8.95 for a pair. The tires were expensive. $20 a pair. Just gotta find a sure way of getting the tires off without taking some of the rubber. boiling water does the trick, but how long should it be in ther boiling water. I would let it sit in the water for a 1-2 min, then slowly pry. repeat until the tire came off, but still managed to get small pieces of rubber still on the wheel.

True. More than likely the wheel would be trashed and tire salvageable.

sweet rims on street tires. almost got those. wanted wheels same size as before but def will look into those wheels for street. That's on huge filter! serious air going in that sucker. yeah, this is my 1st truck and always put close to $200 in it already. I'm sure more will be pumped into the truck for repairs and upgrades. It's hell a fun though.

direct drive is worth it all the way... But don't get metal spur gear waste of money i bought one for 25$$ and 5 mins into the run brrrrrrr broke metal should bented before breaking and it just snapped off the teeth like it was nothing METAL BENTS BEFORE BREAKING but in the spur gear just breaks right off there is couple of BIG fourms about it on here

Damn, good to know. Thought for sure, it would be better. Direct Drive is definately going to be purchase. I replied back to a different thread on which type of direct Drive. Rufaster has 2 version. normal and XL. Still trying to find the part number for 13th clutchbell. Dont know which version to get. normal or XL?

Lol same thing happened to me, the only thing was every single tooth broke off my spur, AND my clutch bell haha. I think my mesh was a little loose, but i had already broke off a couple teeth on the spur, so i didnt care and just ran it. But i thought it would just break the spur, not the clutch bell, that was weird. And it was ALL OF THEM. I dont know how it would do that.

hey doc... i got a titaum clutch bell from allaboutfunhobbies.com haven't had it mess up once prob the best thing i have bought for my volcano i think its a hpi clutch bell and about the direct drive i dunno which one i still using just the factory b\c didn't want to spend the money to replace it since i locite my motor down and let it dry over night haven't had a prob with the spur gear.. u might want to pick up about 5 sets of motor mounts they have a back problem with coming loose stripping the spur gear or the little screws that hold the motor to the mount break or come loose.. which strips spur gear..

Ive had zero problems with stripping spur gears. If you lock tite them they will be fine. And i dont know what your talking about with motor mounts. the only problem ive had with motor mounts is the screws getting stuck in them.
