Default questions for you redcat owners

where did you buy your redcat from? online store, ebay, hobby shop? and why.
what was the selling point for you purchases?
over all, were you satisfied considering what you know now?
besides fast shipping, what would you really like to see from your dealer?
what is the hottest redcat item to purchase and what spare parts do you like or need?
please take the time to answer all questions as this will help me better serve YOU.
thanx, "KryptonitE" RC Hobby and Motorsports

I got mine as a gift from my fiance she got it on ebay after I had been looking at it for a few weeks. I guess what would be really nice is if the dealers were more available locally rather than just online. Nothing more frusterating than having to wait for parts and not having enough money to stock up on parts.

That is the way the hobby is heading. I can't walk into a hobbyshop these days without having to order parts anyways. They seem to strictly carry Traxxas, maybe some HPIif you are lucky. Its a shame, but I don't mind ordering parts online anymore, I get the parts faster that way! example, I ordered gears for my Rampage TT5 from R-U-Faster. in 3 days, I had my parts. Whereas, hobbyshop, Igotta drive 30 miles, tell them what I want, put a down payment on the order, wait for the phone call, and go back to pick parts up over a week later. no fun there!

Some redcat dealers are limited to the amount of products they can put on a page, just ask any dealer by e-mail the product or part you need and they will be glad to help. Redcat has so many good products and parts.

avalanche xp
online purchase as a gift
absolutely love it
would like it if local dealers stocked parts but local dealers usually jack prices up so it costs the same. only down fall is time

Typhoon XP
nitrodeals.com
great on road car. great speed for a noob (me) easy to work on.

my only dislike of redcat rc's is there is no way to hook up easy start like traxxas has. i am not a fan of the roto starts. blew too many OWB's

You could use a 'bump box'.
Also a well tuned nitro should start in 2-3 pulls.
When using electric starts, yes it may start hard start motors, but it masks problems in tuning.
It is like using starting fluid on a gas engine, it helps it start but the problem is still there.

Your post makes absolutely no sense... The EZ Start is the same starting concept. The ONLY difference is that the electric motor is on the vehicle and not in the hand-held. They obviously both have OWB's. If you had ez start, then you'd be complaining about how expensive their owb is, 20 bucks, yep.

Rotos and bumpin is the best way to go

and more parts are involved... and one more thing that sucks about the ez start, is the wiring nightmare that it is (there isn't much, but it's horribly done). That thing is a nightmare in itself, plus it has a weak motor!

I got the Vortex EPX Pro from my LHS, because the price was great for a 1/10 brushless, it is a cool looking truck, I didn't have to worry about customs and shipping, and they support the product.

I think the new 1/8 brushless (when they get here) are going to be hot, and I'm going to be getting an Aftershock.
