RE: Looking at getting a new Redcat
Well it says its a sh.18, but ive never seen that head before. I actually just picked up a new sh 18 from redcat and its a different one than they used to have but its not that one. Weird. Ill ask nick later tonight. But those 1/8th ultralites seem to move pretty good with only a .18 in em. Plus its an 1/8th which are sick. I would personally go with the aftershock.

RE: Looking at getting a new Redcat
well now of thinking to go with the vortex 1/10 and just getting the hopup kit with it.. the 1/8 aftershock seems like the only thing it has to offer is the sh.18 which with trade in and 50$ i can get to put on the vortex.. and it would prob be hole lot faster being smaller.. but i dunno what i want to do

Justin - have you come around about Redcats? Last I knew you were bashing them all over the forum. Have you gotten those issues resolved now? It would be nice to know that you have a new-found respect for the Redcats now that you are looking at getting another one. In case you do not recall, all of the following are your original posts.
original: r/c justin
blink u can get a brand new motor for 50 bucks the sh.18, threw the engine replacement program that redcat has... but i would just break down and buy a traxxas i have sooo many problems with these redcat rcs.... traxxas is better built... i have 5 redcats and i don't even play with them anymore b\c i know i will run them for about 20 mins and something will break... as for my traxxas i have been running it for the last 3 weeks with out one thing going wrong with it, redcats are very poorly made...
i have put my traxxas slayer threw way harder bashing than i would the redcat... b\c i know the traxxas won't break the jump i take in the slayer would break the volcano in half almost..... its just a fact that redcat will never be the quaitly that traxxas is.. period
i haven't had one problem out of my slayer, unlike my redcat that brought the first 2 tanks of gas through it, didn't even get through breakin with out it breaking hahah .... been running it for a straight 2 weeks now balls to the wall.... only thing i have to fix is to reglue the tires... thats it
take it back and get a traxxas!!!!
i think redcat might just need to stick with RTM... b\c there servos, recivers, and transmitters are crap!!!!

Aftershock 8E Ive had it for 2 wks. Just getting back into the RC scene. The Vortex epx pro is smaller than the Slash. Ive seen pics of the 2 side by side on another site.

If I was gonna get one now, it would be the Tornado. I'm trying to get into 1/8 scale now. I like the way it looks and I'm not that particular about the motor. So many out there now that I've researched into them. Just my .02.

No 1/8 has a plastic chassis, only the 1/10 th electrics. and i dont think the 1/8th have 2 speeds either. I have the hurricane and the earthquake, which is like the avalanche but mine has a center slipper instead of a center diff. I like them, but i would probably go with the hurricane. I love it and on ebay you can get a full set of wheels/tires for 16 bucks
