dead at full throttle

Default dead at full throttle



ok, i have a volcano stx .18 and its ding at full throttle, i'm sure its probablycarb issue's, but which screw is which and about how many turns do they need to be? thanks travis

Full throttle bog could be air in fuel line.
The HSN is the one you want, The larger brass screw,on the right side of carb, start at 2 turns out from seated position. Turn 1/8 turn out each run to get max perfomance at top end. The LSN is the one in the center of the throttle rod. Should be flush with chrome collar.

Isnt it 2.5 on the hsn?

Sounds like its to lean i would turn out the hsn a half a turn and see if it still does it.

It is an old stx, the motor is most likely not at full comp.

now i think i got it tuned a little better and not dieing at full throttle, but it will die wheni let off the gas sometimes, or try to let it idle. pull the string several times and it will start back up? i'm wonderingif its getting to hot but idk? what is the temp supposed to be on these vx.18 motors its got the cooling head and nowa tuned pipe?

Most likley your idle screw isnt set right and the carb. is probly closing when you hit the brake causing the car to die. Adjust the idle screw untill it doesnt close when you hit the brakes or just adjust the trim on the Radio.
