New Tornado: Body mods?
Hey, I was wondering if my new Tornado needs any mods done to the body before I run it?(Ie:like ahole in the windshield for cooling, etc.)Also., since Im in FL and gonna be around sand all the time, is there anything special I should do to keep it runnin strong?(besides keeping the air filter oiled and clean) Thanks for any tips or tricks I may need!Lookin forward to breakin this thing in tomorrow, then finally gettin it dirty!!

Yup, Hole in the windshield is a very good idea. You want it to run cool and keep it clean, and take your time breaking the motor in it will make the motor last alot longer. Have fun running it...

Take your time, ask questions and research before you start running it. Locktite all metal to metal screws so they dont come loose, and make all your pre run checks like that the radio and servos work correctly and stuff.

If you are going to run in sand, I would give some serious consideration to a filter upgrade, something like a Motor Saver.

Also, if you run at the beach, be sure to clean the vehicle well after running. Aluminum does not like salt water residue much.

RE: New Tornado: Body mods?
Thanks for the tips about the motor saver filter and vet wrap.. But, what's vet wrap?? Is it like medical gause or similar? I looked at the link to Tower Hobbies and all the "Motor Saver" filters.. There's a bunch of versions? Any one better or worse, for using on the Tornado (1/10 buggy) ?? Thanks once again!!
BigDave, bummer about lunchin the motor.. On the bright side, at least now ya have a reason to tear down and learn the internals of a mini nitro engine! That's half the fun!!Good luck!!
