Default Swap out: 2 speed to 1 speed??

Hey again!!Well, as some of your know, I've been tryin to get my 2 speed (Nitro Tornado)to work reliably, but it doesnt seem to matter what I do, it'll only reliably shift for a few minutes before it hangs in 2nd gear.. So, Im resorting to swapping out the 2speed tranny for a 1 speed unit I have.. My question is about the cluthbell/pinion though..Has anyone tried running the 2 speed cluthbell with the single speed tranny?Just wondering if it'll work?I have the single bell as well, but just checking on my options.. The "tooth/gear" ratio specs for the 2 speed are:Pinion=21/16 Spur= 47/42 and the Single speed is:Pinion=16 Spur= 44.. Thanks!!

Mich, I don't think you we be able to get a good mesh on the single speed spur gear with the 2 speed bell. The pinion will over hang the spur gear a bit so you will not get full contact across the gear teeth. You can always try it when you go change the trans, see how it lines up. Just make sure you can get the gears to have good contact across the teeth.

I hear ya Codokas.. This is the 3rd time I've had the 2speed apart.. Once again there doesnt appear to be anything wrong with the 2 speed clutch.. The last time I had it out I had tinkered with the sping and ball, cause the arm wouldnt "snap" back closed all the way.. But she looks fine this time, the arm snaps closed tightly, but no matter what I do it'll work for a few mins, then hang in 2nd.. Pretty strange.. But anyway, Im with you, Im goin to the single speed!

That's what they say Dave! Im just bashin at the moment, but ya never know when I might try my hand at the local dirt track.. (If there was a local dirt track) lol.. Least now I can concentrate on driving and not worry when/if it's gonna stop shifting..
