Earthquake 3.5 Braking
I recently got an earthquake and in learning to operate hit a snow pile. It ended up breaking the steering linkage and had to replace. In order to replace I had to remove the throttle/brake linkage from the servo- just removed one screw and lifted it off. I got the part replaced and when I reinstalled the linkage I can't seem to get the brakes to work. It doesn't seem like the servo moves far enough to apply the brakes. The throttle works fine but the brakes act like they are binding on the slide rod. I checked it all over several times but no luck. I replaced the batteries also thinking it may be weak batteries. Any hint as to where to set the linkage on the servo? I want to run again but am scared without brakes it may get beat up worse.

It sounds like you got the servo horn off by a couple of teeth. Center the servo and the trim and then put on the horn Don't turn the radio off, leave it on for the 10 seconds putting the horn on takes.

RE: Earthquake 3.5 Braking
Iam going to throw out what Iobserved on my Earthquake 3.0, in regards to the function of the brake/throttle servo. Ido not have my servo horn centered, for the linkages on my EQ 3.0 Ifound that resetting the horn off center worked much better. BUT to give out what Idiscovered, the retaining screw that goes thru the middle of the horn, into the servo, if Itightened mine "too" much it would cause the servo to loose full range of motion. Ihad to tinker with the how tight was too tight for that screw, until the servo would move the horn to full motion. Try only removing the screw, and moving the trigger on the radio back and forth from wide open throttle to full set brakes. If you get full range, replace the screw and tighten until you feel comfortable, and retry the radio, and see if you lost any range movement.
The brake linkage on my EQ 3.0 Ialso had to use two sets of needle nose pliers, and put a small bend in the rod, so that it would pass freely thru the eyelet on the horn. Ialso put a slight arch in the throttle rod, for the same reason.
If you need pictures Ican take some, hope this helps.
Best regards,

Your problem is the lock nuts on the arm conection at the horn are to tight ,the pieces with the holes that the linkage goes through on the servo horn need to be lose enough to turn so they dont bind on the linkage bar when they travel back and forth. So just lossen the lock nut under the connection on the servo horn and it should unbind it so it can travel its full distance in both directions .
