i didnt do anything special, just got 2 kids and the EIC makes for a nice tax return.
if my house didnt need a new door, a new deck, a new hot water heater and i didnt have a $2000 credit card to pay off i could buy even more RC stuff!
plus i have to put some of the return in savings

Dang-it my wife and I will likely pay in around $10,000 this year instead of gettinganything back, would be nice in this semisocialist country we live inif I was getting a lot more back than I paid in, I remember those days of having the little ones still at home and getting that extra money at the end of the year, it really did help out with things, but now I'm one of the contributors to the plan and not a receiver any more.......LOL Dang the luck!

we have 4 boys and the youngest is 20, we also have 5 grandkids but they dont count for us so we just get the good ole IRS Shaft every dang year........!

Nitro I hope you enjoy all the new stuff, I know I would.........and I hope you get all that fixing up done around the house quick......if not the little woman of the house may not be as nice about all the playing with the new toyz until it's done...... I know thats how mine is anyway...! But I guess ya cant blame-em for it, they're the queens of the castle....! and pretty good to have around eber now and then..........LOL

Peace, ShanG.

i have been on the other side of the tax bracket.
for 5 years i worked for myself installing flooring.
never made more than $17k a year, but always owed taxes[&:] almost didnt pay to work for myself. had i made the same amount working at walmart i would have recieved refunds all those years.
but then, it was nice to work for myself. most of the time anyway

Yeah i know what you mean, the IRS stinks for all of us, I say let me have my money and do as I please with it, Iearned it not the government, I would rather just pay a flat sales tax, that way the playing field is even for all of usand people dont get punished for their hard work and success.

Peace

i dont feel there is anything wrong with the self-employment tax in itself. but it needs to be measured.
if i make 15k self employed, i shouldnt have to pay 1,500 in tax. now, if i made 150k then paying 15k in tax is very different.
with the self employment tax, you dont fall into the same tax bracket as you do when you work for a company.
like i said, if i had made the same 15k working at walmart, i would have gotten all my taxes back. but making 15k working for myself, i had to pay 1,500 dollars at the end of the year? i made the same amount of money. why the difference? cause the IRS thinks all self-employed people make butt-loads of money and need to be taxed heavily or something like that.

all i know is that for the next few years i will be getting a return, do to the EIC. and if i put $1000 of that on my home loan, then i can have the house i just bought last year paid off in 20years. then my wife can retire early(special ed teacher is a tough gig) and we can live off whatever i make and her retirement(assuming that still exists 20years from now!)

Yeah, some people in my opinion have drank the cool-aid so to speak and dont understand that we have in this country many people in leadership positions who truly want to destroy the middle class and bring a huge amount of government control upon all of us.

If they get here way there will only be the poor class and the rich class, poor being us and rich being them (leadership), this is nothing new of coarse it has been creaping up on us a little at a time for a good while now and one of the best ways to make it happen is through many ways, punish success and cause people to rely more on the leadership, the idea of everyone being on an even playing field sounds good but has never worked and never will, " If a man wont work, let him NOTeat "

A big problem we have these days is,to many unwilling to work and a leadership that caters to that group by making it more profitable not to work, these have more help just relying on government rather than rolling up their sleeve and getting busy providing a product or a service to the Country or thestate& city where they live, this class is created by dumbing people down &punishing success so that people are less inclined to pursue greater success and wealth, this system will eventually bring a people to their knees and usher in state run everything, it aint rocket science and the punishment being handed down to us hardworking - middle +class people makes some of us want to give up on our dreams because the costs makes it not worth the trouble in many ways, I love my Country and the decent hard working citizens of this Country, but if anyone cant see we are on our way down a bad road they area fool.

IRS
FED
UN
CFR
World Bank
......................................BAD NEWS................................!

I hope this is not taken as political in a controversial way, I just see so many people who are suffering because of this mess and it just aint right, the land of the free has become the land of the taxed.....and ticketed, tell me one thing we can do now days even on our own property with out a license or a permit from some city, state or federal institution.........!

I'm done!

And bydangs I'm happy for you Nitro, and glad you are gonna be able to take care of business around your home and have something left to enjoy yourself, Ithink the RC stuff is a great way to spend family time as those kids grow up,you have their attention when they're having fun, and this gives us a chance to talk to them and put some good advise in their ears that may help them the rest of their lives.

Peace

not to get preachy, but there is a scripture that says "man will dominate man to his injury". sound familliar?

i am sure that there are those in political positions and positions of authority who do their best and have good intentions. but they are off-set but those who are out to line their own pockets.
still, we live in a country that is FAR better off than many others. we enjoy freedoms that many dont.

just yesturday i watched a vid of a RC plane, and one of the comments asked "i thought they didnt allow RC's in that country." the video owner said that used to be the case(do to terrorism)
can you imagine not being allowed to own a rc???

You are 100% right, Ido agree with all that you said here, this is a great country and much better than most all others in my opion, i'm just hoping we dont go down the same road as others by doing things the way they did, and yes at the end of the day it is about money and greed, maoney as we know is fine in itself but " the love of it is the root of all evil" I'll bet you recognize that one.....and just to let you know preachy dont bother me one bit, if it's the word then it is the truth and I believe it.....straight up.

great points you made here Nitro...!

the savvy aint much right now.
i have a nitro version with a BL conversion plate and tranny.
i have a 9xl motor to go in it.
im ordering the 150amp ESC to put in it.
i need to build some battery trays for the duel 2s lipos i will run.

im trying to build a "mild" BL 4wd MT with the savvy. i dont want to put alot into it. i paid $100 for the rolling chassis, $80 for the ESC and have $30 in the motor. i still have alittle to spend on a fan and the battery trays, but right now i have what should be a nice brushless savage for under $250!
im hoping on the ESC's lower settings, and only running 4s(not 6s like the flux) that the truck will hold up well.
