Default Aftershock 8E tire issues

To owners of the Aftershock 8E;
Is anyone else having issues with the sidewalls of the their tires tearing ?
I think it is probably from running the car WOT and the tires ballooning up; any ideas why this is happening and what I can do to prevent this?
Maybe taping the inside of the tire; how's this done?

"Strapping"tape is the best, imo.. You put it on the inside of the tire, in the middle, and it acts similar to the belts ofa "belted radial" tire.. Before putting the tape on, use some alcohol on a rag, and wipe the inside of the tire, so it'll be good and clean, and the tape will adhere better.. You can find "strapping"tape at most any hardware type store.. It's very similar to regular packing tape, but it's got filament/fiber lines that run length wise, along the spool of tape.. Good luck!

You could convert it to 17mm with backdraft parts and run buggy badlands. Mine work great. They hold up to abuse so much better. They also make it handle, steer, and get traction way better. Myin air jumping response also improved. Ebay is a good place to get used 17mm buggy tires. Look closely at the buggy diagram on redcatracing.com to find out what parts you need.

MPO-01 is a 12mm aluminum upgrade from 12mm plastic. I have it as well.If you want to run 17mm wheels you need to change the hex to 17mm. You would need the 17mm hub AND the backdraft end of the backdraft cvd.The 17mm hub attaches to a different cvd end than the 12mm aftershock hub.

I had the sc8 and the sidewalls tore on all for of mine. It was because the rims have hard ribbed plastic behind the sidewall of the outside part of the rim. When cornering the hard plastic rubs the side walls until it wears through. You can even feel the hard plastic inside if you squeeze the sidewall.

Some of the sc tires that have a different innner and out diameter are prone to this. I went to buggy badlands 17mm because the inner/out is the same and they have the most traction out of all the tires if tried (trencher, aftershock, sc8, bow tie, gadiator, slash plat 4x4, slash rtr 4x4, etc.)
