Default Used Savage or New Hurricane?

Well I finally have the money to buy a hurricane, but I also heard that the savage is almost indestructable. Is it? How resilient is the Hurricane? I can get a used Savage with no engine and drop in a SH .28 for $240, but I can get a new hurricane for $255. Which is better?

Oh yeah, and the insanely low prices are courtesy of URCHOBBY!

Both are great vehicles. You are comparing a buggy to a truck though.
If RedCat, then the Avalanche is comparable.
Buying used is always a crap shoot.
You will also need other parts to 'drop in the SH 28', the motor alone will run you 150.00.
and to be fair You also did not mention which version of the HPI you are looking at ?

Well the Hurricane and the Avalanche have the same chassis, so durability wise I'd think they'd be similar. I know where I can get a SH .28 for $90, so thats taken care of.
All I'm really comparing is durability. I've heard great things about both, but my LHS has HPI parts and those savage shocks look beast.

Still do not know what model HPI Savage ?

Does the roller come with electronics and radio ?

But - the Savage has a vert box type chassis. If you can do for under 250.00 with electronics then go for it. The Savage, new runs around 400 and up, depending on model.

w/o electronics go for the Hurricane or Avalanche. (come with 2.4 GhZ)

Yeah, it comes with all that, and an engine, but the engine is blown, so I'll just get the SH. Thanks for the help!
