Today was not a great day
I got to wake up this morning to a call from our shipping company.
Watch bottom of video at about 13 seconds and what the fireman is pushing on the handtruck at 30 seconds. http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/video?id=7920255 Darin |
RE: Today was not a great day
i saw that. i really hope some of the models are OK.
some of the boxes looked in good shape. but i cant tell in the vid if they got wet or not. at least that container didnt have the new 1/5 gassers!!! http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?se...ire&id=7920256 |
RE: Today was not a great day
Driver was fine and nobody else was hurt and that is all that matters.
We did have a bunch of parts and much needed out of stock vehicles on this shipment so when you think about the number of containers that leave the port on a daily basis and it ends up being ours, it kind of makes you aware that playing the lottery this week is probably just a waste of money. RE: Today was not a great day
it is lucky that with that kinda damage that no-one was hurt.
i can only imagine how bad it must smell. the cab was burnt to the ground! must have been a very hot fire. |
RE: Today was not a great day
dang-it that looked bad, the most important thing is that no life was lost. Maybe most of the cargo is still in good shape and could possibly just be reboxed, it wouldnt bother me one bit to get something that had been reboxed as long as it had been inspected prior to boxing it back up and of coarse still had the same warranty. Hopefully the losses here are minimal.! Sorry...! for any loss Redcat Racing I'm sure all of our best wishes and our Prayers are with you all on this issue, and thank you so much for a great product and the outstanding customer service you offer us out here in Redcat Land... Peace and best wishes always for your efforts ShanG</p> |
RE: Today was not a great day
Back before i lost my leg and most of the use of my hands i drove a overseas container truck for a local trucking company. Those containers are all vented and have 5/8 walls and fire proof paint.I would bet only the first 15 feet of the box starting at the front are damaged.I have seen many fire wrecks involving container in my 17yrs of trucking, and alot of the time you would be suprised on what is salvaged form them.

ORIGINAL: jkirkland was it a bad lipo maybe. |
RE: Today was not a great day
The fire prolly started by a crash or a poorly maintained truck.I would assume the trucking company would insure all the damages, just a matter of being out of stock for a while.

RE: Today was not a great day
fires happen, it doesn't always have to do with how the vehicle was maintained. Things happen, like blown out/ruptured oil lines, fuel line/rail ruptures, and catastrophic engine failures.
Anything that can be still sold by chance? |
RE: Today was not a great day
What are the odds of that? Sorry to hear, I presume it is insured.
