When the "tire glue" I ordered showed up my suspicions were confirmed it's not similar to super glue, it IS super glue.

krazy glue or any other rubber anealing glue.

Bob smith industries makes some bad A** black tire glue infused with rubber. Best stuff I ever used. We keep 300 bottles of it on hand at all times.

I used plastic model cement with mine and they have been holding through much abuse. It is difficult to do a tidy job of it though, use some rubbing alcohol to clean up the tires if you get any on them.

also make sure the scuff up the rims where the rubber sits, it will make a better bond, especially if it has a chrome covering.

ehroof is right.
do that to the wheels (rims) and also the inner area of the tire where the wheel and tire will meet. I usually just wipe in the inner area of the tire with a damp cloth. ths ensures a clean surface for the glue to grab onto. |
RE: How do I get new tires to stay on the rims?
An update to my previous post where I said I used plastic model cement, after a rigorous session on pavement, ramps and grass, the tires did NOT hold. I have rebonded them with silicone adhesive and see how that goes, but if they come off again I'll be using superglue.<div>

RE: How do I get new tires to stay on the rims?
Silicone adhesive won't hold. You need super glue or a C/A tire glue. I have found differences between super glue and Tire glue. Yes they are both C/A Glues, but the tire glue seems to bond better and stay somewhat more flexible over time. Super glue seems to get very hard and brittle after a while. Anyway, My two cents.
