buggy sat for a while, now what?

Hello,

I searched for the info but could not find it.

I have the Redcat buggy. I bought it new, used it for a summer, and put it on a shelf in the garage.

Now my Son is comming up for the summer and wants to get it running.

I can see that some of the fuel was left in the tank and is now thick (not much just a 1/8" thick amount in the bottom of the tank)

I imagine I need to clean the lines and the carb.

Is there a writeup on this procedure?

Is there a simple way like replace the lines and soak the carb for a while in gasoline?

What should I do?

Thanks for your help!<br type="_moz" />

there are specific nitro RC cleaners....
but easiest way is to soak parts in fresh nitro fuel
Replacing the lines is a good idea as well.
Fuel left in the tank will need to be cleaned. I do hope none was left in the motor...as nitro fuel attracts moisture and this can cause corrosion inside the motor.

But then, I have bought a used traxxas that came with a motor completely locked up...couldnt turn that motor over at all. Pulled it all apart and let the whole thing soak in PB blast. Re-assembled and had it running around the back yard the next day!
