1/8 motor fit in a 1/10 blackout pro?

Hello guys I need some help trying to see if I can do this or not. I have a redcat blackout xte pro. I have a 1/8th (bigger motor) that I would like to put in it so I can get more power. I am just stuck. I have took it all apart and everything lines up except the motor pinion gear. The shaft on the 1/8 motor is obviously bigger. And I cannot find a gear that would work for this setup. I dont know what it would be even called. I know that theres conversion kit to go 1/8 scale but cannot find it for redcat blackout. I see theres one for traxxas an thats all I can find. I dont really want to go that route even if there is one because I dont have lots of cash flow. I know this will mess up my tranny and driveshaft etc. But its only for temporary and have extra parts of that stuff. Just ordered new parts today actually for drivetrain. Any information you can provide will be very appreciative. Thank you guys :)

The Blackout comes with a 540 size motor, I'd stick a 550 sized motor in there if you want more torque. I'm not sure how much room you got for the motor. Just take that into consideration when looking at a 1/8 scale motor. Also keep in mind the output shaft size on any motor you are looking at. The stock 540 motor looks as if it has a 1/8" (3.175mm) shaft. The next size up (motor shaft) is 5mm, and which is common on 550 and bigger sized motors. You would then be tasked with finding the right Redcat pitch pinion gear (.6 mod ?). There seems to be conflicting "best answers" to this question of pitch.

Try ASAP Hobbies on eBay. Again, I'm not sure Redcat uses (metric) .6 mod gears. Some of the gears from the link include a sleeve to use if you have a 1/8" motor shaft. Some people say 32P/.8mod gears work on their Redcats. Meh, makes my head spin everytime the subject comes about .

Ok ill check that out and study cuz I dont know anything about gears to be honest.. know a tiny bit but that's it. I just ordered traxxis talons tires 2.8 and I think my brushless motor is going to get even hotter than it already doe. It gets really hot. Im afraid of it going. Thats one reason why I want to put this 1/8th motor on so my motor wont have to work itself to death for reagular yard/road. I kind of want more torque as well cuz I like wheelies. But being that im getting all new tires might left the front end up. My tires i have on it now are the stock kind and o have no foam inside them. I have been jb welding on one wheel cuz the center keeps cracking and the tires are so so so so bald. It does donuts really good on pavement til it catches. I have been super gluing the tires cuz there so thin right now and everytime it slices on the flat part of tire I glue it lol. But I do know that the 1/8th motor is off of. Would that help?

That's the motor. AnAnds your right it is a 5mm shaft comin out of motor. Its for the terremoto. 1/8th. Not the terremoto 10 v2. The v2 is a 1/10 scale. Thank you for that info to im going to look up the ebay tonight an study haha. But if you find anything else please let me know thank you so much! :)

These gears are doing my head in too ... lol
5mm 17T .8Mod gear from Traxxas https://traxxas.com/products/parts/5643
I think 17T is stock gearing ???
You may need to gear up or down depending on how the new motor goes ... watch the temps !!!

Yup it is 17T. Should I order the one that you mentioned then? Im so excited!! Just got my new wheels and tires today. Holy crap they are so sweet. I love them. I have lost some torque tho. Is that why I need to drop a gear on motor pinion gear? And should I order the 16T or 17T 5mm .8 Mod? Or 1 Soon as you give me the green light I'm ordering asap.

If you measure your original gear it will confirm what it is .
17T 0.8 mod = 15.2mm diameter +/- tolerance

I run a big motor in my caldera 10e, had to shave the chassis a bit but it is awesome, doesn't get hot at all on 3s with 4 sand paws on it. I run a 17tooth .8 mod 5mm hole pinion from Robinson racing that works extremely well. I broke 3 smaller shaft motors, 2 broke the shaft right off, went with the biggest shaft motor on purpose for this reason and has been running strong over a year of abuse
