RE: deffernt between himoto and redcatracing

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but this should be the same as the Redcat "Lightning VX"

Also the same as the Hi-Speed "Sonic"

Check the partnumbers from your manual to what we have on our site.

And FYI....

Again, someone let me know if I'm wrong.

Himoto "Eldorada" is the same as Redcat "Volcano" and Hi-Speed "Tyrannosaurus"

Himoto "Syclone" is the same as Redcat "Tornado" and Hi-Speed "Atomic Warhead"

There also very similar to the Condor Pro, I got some Condor parts for my Atomic Warhead that fit. Only part I broke that couldn't take the Condor parts was the gear casing, but im not fussed.

hey topspeed.... mine was ordered from hong kong and called a syclone by "himoto" I get parts from ya'all. Im pretty sure that ordering parts from either of the 1/10 buggys works out fine for my buggy. I think the only difference is the 1 and 2 speed tranny's. I thought that redcat buys these things from himoto but there was a guy from Austrailya that posted saying that himoto actually buys them from a company in Japan that only makes these cars if someone orders a bunch of them. If I understood it correctly this company will put whatever you want on the body for you when you order them. Hence the confusion. Anyhoo, thanks for carryin parts and please keep stocking. Im up to ordering about 8 a-arms at a time now.;)

The company that makes redcat, some of himoto, exceed, and a few others is HSP...basicaly each company has them rebadged with their bodies and are givin a choice of which engines to offer on their line...I'm sure some may also pay for different qualities in the plastic their cars are made of as well some sudel differences. being it transmissions or what not...different companies choose which HSP models they choose to add to their line up...some even are offering models of their own design that HSP has no rights to...most of them have the owners manuel available for download online..here you can compare part #'s to see if your parts will interchange...if they are the same HSP model they will most likely carry the exact same part #'s

The condor is made by the Acme factory in China. We do not buy from that factory and therefore I doubt it will fit your model.

Sorry about that.

RE: deffernt between himoto and redcatracing

Hi Folks...
All the cars that Himoto and Redcat have in Common are the ones commonly refered to as the HSP cars.
These include the Viper/Volcano SV, Eldorada/VolcanoSTX,Torpeda/Hurricane, Rancho/Avalanche among others.....
I believe we have the 1/10 Buggies, and streetcars(electric and nitro) in common as well.
About the 1/16 cars? You'll have to do your own research on those as they aren't my area of interest. (There are only so many hours in the Day! Lol..)

Parts for these cars are interchangeable, no matter which company sold you the car.

However, in the last year or so both Himoto and Redcat have introduced new models which are NOT interchangeable.
For Himoto, these include the 1/10 and 1/8 MegaP series and the Pro Series 1/8 race Buggy (RXB-1) and Truggy (RXT-1)

For Redcat, these include the Ultra Light Series, Sandstorm, Maelstrom and Landslide.

Both companies also sell 1/5 vehicles. Again, not my area of interest. (Besides, I already Own a Lawn Mower:D). Thats a JOKE, so please don't PM me with hatemail!
I hope this post has been SOME help to those folks interested in this Topic.
My apologies to Himoto and Redcat if I left any models out. I am, after all, only Forum Support, not a Sales Rep!....

RE: deffernt between himoto and redcatracing

Redharris is correct on most of the models mentioned. I assume even with some of the vehicles he mentioned, that there are some other very minor differences, but like he said there is just not enough time to figure out what they are as each company does their own thing. I know that Redcat is always making changes to better their models as I am sure Himoto is as well and therefore, if one of our vehicles was an exact match 1 year ago, it may not be today.

The bottom line is Redcat and Himoto are NOT the same company and are owned by different people. The simple fact that some vehicles are purchased from the same factory (HSP) is all that is common between the two but that is changing as well as time goes on like Redharris mentioned.

As mentioned in a previous post, if you are looking for a part, you might be able to find it from Redcat, Himoto or a number of other places but you should use the part number as your rule of thumb. If Redcat and Himoto share the same exact part number, than the part will work for you. If the part numbers are different, even though in a picture they look identical, do not take the risk and assume it will fit.

Himoto is a great company and has a strong following as does Redcat. In the RC arena both companies are fairly new compared to the major brands and both companies continue to change to meet the needs of their customers.

RE: deffernt between himoto and redcatracing

yeah most of these starter cars are the same. There are some minor differences. There are even some name brand parts that fit but you just have to do your homework.
