I don't think you can, you might want to try Toys'r us or tower hobbies, I thought I saw just the charger at toys are us. Now if you want a quick charger like 15 minute charger you can plug into your car or the wall we have those but there any where from $30 to $130. You might want to check Tower you might be able to get the 4 hour plug by itself.

Just out of curiosity, isn't 9.6v too much for a receiver? I know most receiver packs I've seen are 6.0v. Just lookin' out...

8 x 1.5 = 12, 9.6 will show low if you have a readout on the tranmitter, i have a jr radio w/display that will beep then the volage goes to 9.6, it would drive me crazy, same with the spektrum.

RE: wall charger

actually i was planning on using it for my transmitter, i read on a previous thread that a 9.6v would work since technically the transmitter doesnt need 12volts , supposedly its not just adding up the 8 1.5volts it has to do with wiring or some other junk, (what i read). So i have 2 9.6v packs i got for cheap, but the batteries came uncharged and all the chargers i own wont work and radioshack sells only the pack and charger combo. The battery fits exactly where the battery tray was and i can still close the bottom so if it turns out these packs work then it will be extremely convenient, but my problem is im clueless about batteries and chargers so i have no clue as to what type of wall charger id need, my batteries have large connectors than the tiny hump pack cells

i think that radio's designed for rechargables, like the ones i have for planes that come with the pack were made for 9.6volts and show 100% when charged. I tried to use the rechargables in my jr system and it was beeping with fully charged batteries, i would reccomend sticking with alkaline batteries, also i see a difference with the 4 pack plane reciever batteries and the 6v 5 pack batteries. the servo's move much better with the 5 pack cells than the 4 pack, there is no resistance with the planes but there is with the cars. Just my opinion but i would stick to the alkaline, they last a long time, not like the reciever packs.

Any one know if this charger battery combo is any good, supposedly the batteries are some of the best around, are they better than the venom rechargeables

RE: wall charger

the reason it cost $40 is because it is a peak charger which is alot better than a trickle charger and if you buy the battery charger combo at radioshack the charger is probably some cheap trickle charger

ehroof 01-01-2007 03:22 PM

RE: wall charger

I have this charger, it will charge everything including lipo's, 9v 7.2 w/tamiya connectors and rechargable reciever packs:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXLCJ6&P=ML

it would be a good idea to get this too: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXL332&P=M so you can charge the reciever packs, you can charge 2 batteries at the same time.
