Umm whoa!!! How does that thing accelerate? [8D] I'm gonna have to say that I think it MIGHT rub a little when turning.

Those tires are frickin huge :D

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

its either too rich or too lean, have you touched the tuning needles?

nhindians74 03-31-2007 09:52 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

yea but the engine to me i think it is touchy i was running it to day and i was holding a constant speed (around 15-20mph) and it would stall while i was holding the throttle

you have a fuel filter on it? Did you clean the carb?

ehroof 04-01-2007 09:35 AM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

if your running to lean it will starve for fuel, too rich and it will flood, close the high needle and put it out 3 turns, make the low needle flush with the collar around it. start it up and run it, when it warms up start to lean the high needle a little at a time, like 1/8 of a turn, drive it and see if it gets better.

ehroof 04-01-2007 10:00 AM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

i have a one more question is the stx better than the sv and the sv pro

ehroof 04-01-2007 11:33 AM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

the only difference is the suspension, the stx has regular a arms, the sv has ball joint suspension and the sv has ball joint suspension in aluminum with the aluminum upgrades.

hi im wondering about the himoto estarter is it worth the money because im dead from pulling it to start and also i keep destroying me pull starter

ehroof 04-07-2007 09:34 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

electric starters are good, you can get the whole hpi setup from tower for like $35, it has the backplate and starter wand, you will need to get a battery and charger. If the engine is tuned right, it should start on 2 or 3 pulls after priming it. The downside with the electric starters is that you need to have a charged batter to start the car, if not, your out of luck and have to wait for the batter to charge, not to mention its another thing to carry around to use your car.

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

i might just get two batteries but yeah i think im going to get one

nhindians74 04-07-2007 09:54 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

the himoto one is only 20 dollars though and it has everything but the battery pack

ehroof 04-07-2007 10:11 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

i never seen the himoto starter or used it, you will still need to get a batter and charger for it, but at $20 i dont think you can go wrong.

ehroof, I've got another one for you. I let one of my buddies run my Volcano SV and in the process he broke the transmitter antenna. I've checked with Redcat and it's made by Futaba. I've gone to tower hobbies and they have ten or more Futaba antennas. This one has male threads on the end. Can you please help me? Oh, that's the first AND last time I let a buddy run one of my R/C's!! Thanks again,. Pete
