RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
Can we state in here what wheels do fit the Volcano?
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
Yes you can
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
I can't ... because I do not know well enough ;) and in fact I am looking to get wheels for mine and wondered which one's do fit?
I do know our hex is 12mm, right? And then they are 2.2" wide? What is the diameter? |
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
the 12mm hex is correct, i really dont know the specifics of the stock tires. I use traxxas rustler rear rims, 4 of them. you may have to do a little trimming on the rims to make them fit, i have the stx and someone got some rims that were no good on the sv. The hpi 5 spoke seem to fit, these ones: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...p?&I=LXM876&P=
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
what tires to go with it?;)
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
any 2.2 truck tire: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...P?&C=CJE&V=PRO
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...p?&I=LXLN12&P= this is what i like can i put these on volcano stock rims
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
no, the volcano rims are taller more like a jato rim (2.8 but dont hold me to that) i dont think you can get tires except for the redcat replacement for the stock volcano rims
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
Ya you can put T-maxx tires on them BUTTTT the T-maxx tires rub on everything when you turn, lol. Jato tires should fit. I've got a set of Jato Tires I was thinking about putting on my Volcano, but I haven't done it. Eyeballing it looks like it might fit fine.
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
jato tires do fit but with the 2.8 rim there is not much of a choice of tires.

www.imexrc.com[link=http://imexrc.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=3]http://imexrc.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=3[/link]
Check it out, We will be carrying most of these tires and a about 25% of everything else listed on the site in a month or so. The prices are high on the Imex site because they prefer people to buy from there dealers, but check it out anyway way cool tires and rims. |
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
good, i am tired of the anocanda or the victory tires from traxxas, the victory tires wore dowm on my jato 2.5r before i was finished with the break in, the anocanda's on the 3.3 seem to last longer
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
My Anacondas Blow no really with the 3.3 its to much power they balloned until they exploded it was cool and crazy
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
So what size are our stock wheels? Are they 2.8?
I'd like to maintain the wheel/rim size and as I think it looks good, will these wheels on this page work as replacements? http://imexrc.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=4 Also, does anyone have a link to wheel hub adapaters? You know from our 12mm to say a 14mm? |
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
any jato rear will work. the jato tires mount differently than the regular tires, they slip into a groove from the side not from the top
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
ehroof, when you say they mount differently ... you mean the tires to the wheels, right?
I've never had them seperated to see how they mount up. Will this pose a problem in re-using the stock tires? Before I go too far with wanting them, does anyone have a link or know where I can get a 12mm to 14mm hub adapter? |
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
the tire mounts to the wheel differently with the jato. you couldnt use jato tires with the stock volcano rims. I dont think they make 12/14mm adapters. i only know of 14/17 and 17/23
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
Okay, I guess that answers that ;-) so I can't get Jato rims for my truck :(
Does anyone have the stock Volcano SV rims available or does anyone on here have a set they would sell? |
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
you can get jato rims, they will fit but you need to get jato tires too
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
Ohhh, okay :D and then I would need to find Jato (rears) with a 12mm hex as well?
Thanks! |
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
Jato rear rims are 12mm hex, you would need 4 rear rims and 4 tires
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
All Jato? Well maybe this website has it listed wrong - http://imexrc.com/detail.aspx?ID=588
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
the 2 jatos i have, the traxxas rims mount the tires differently than other ones, they mount from the side.

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
Glad to see a volcano thread only. I want to buy some spare glow plugs for my vertex .18 engine. The plug that came out of it appears to read y3. The guy at hobbytown sold me a Mccoy mc59. When I matched it up to the one that came in the engine, it has much longer threads. I'm thinking it will strike the top of the piston if I use it. One thread said to use OS A3. A little help will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance. Sure will be glad when weather clears so I can run my truck! Redcat Volcano Sv .18 vertex |
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
os a3 is a good plug for this motor is a hot plug, the lower the number the hotter the plug, i dont know about the mccoy plugs
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
