i have my first gear kinda short, so i have a betta take off. but the second gear would strip out before the first. I tighten screws so tight, some of dem snapped off inside of the engine mounts. i used lock tight, medium n extra strength. just to make sure the screw don't move. i'll be good, if i could show off, and neva have to stop to switch out gears

I've had a similar situation as holliwud. My second gear goes out first. I have 3 tornado BB's with the HPI clutch on all three. I've been thru about 2 gallons so far. I've only completely stripped out one spur so far (second gear), the others are showing wear but the first gears are fine. What's strange about it is that on two clutch setups, the first gears have almost completely rounded out yet the (first gear) spur gears are fine. Guess I'll have to work on the mesh adjustments some more. Otherwise no real issues and they are pretty fast. BTW has Redcat nailed down the dogbones for the wheels yet. Ive ordered two different numbers and they are all too long. I can make them work by not running the ball screws in as far, but then steering isnt as good. I also tried the 06047 cv's and they dont fit the bb either. I guess I'll pu the stock bells on for now and go from there.

Believe it or not, one of them is still using the original (shiny) clutch spring. LOL

Hey EHROOF or anybody for that matter, I put a all aluminium pipe on my XP and it ran good for a couple of tanks. I am noticing that there were some air bubbles in my fuel line and it was set rich but running way to lean. It also had almost no compression when I tried starting it. After replacing the fuel tank, the fuel line, andn sealing my carb, i reilized that it may have been the pipe. I put the stock one back on and it ran good again. I was wondering if there was a solution to the problem i am having. I want the aluminium pipe for power and spped. Please write back.:(

air bubbles in your fuel line dont really have anything to do with the pipe, the pipe only pushes air into the tank for pressure. maybe you have or had a hole in the fuel line or fuel tank and it was sucking in air.

kawk900, do those batteries come with a chargers

You will need a charger for the hump pack and you can use regualr 1.2 volt aa batteries in the remote

hump packs: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...ck&FVPROFIL=++
charger: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFVD4&P=7

you may be able to find a battery/charger combo at radio shack or online somewhere like tower hobbies

Now I found out it was something else. Every time I start the xp when it is cold it only takes 2 or 3 pulls. If it stalls and I try to start It when it is warm it will never start very good. Any suggestions?[sm=drowning.gif]

did you try a new plug? When its hard to start, is it hot, do you know what temprature? When an engine is hard to start it is uaually a sign of a hot (overheated) engine or a blown engine. Hows the compression on it when you try to start it and are having a problem? If its good then you may need to richen the high needle.

i like the hpi nitro 3 header and associated rpm pipe

do u notice a big difference in take off or top end?

ehroof 05-11-2007 03:22 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread

sure, the header alone would make a big difference, smoother than the stock manifold. And that pipe would give you better top end and improved low end ovet the stock pipe.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread

EHROOF the engine is hot when i have this problem. If I did blow an engine it would not make any sense because I always ran it rich, maintained it and if it is too lean it still has a lot of blue smoke coming out . I have only ran about 3 quarts through it so I do not know what is going on.[sm=72_72.gif]

I would not recommend an RMP tuned pipe for a torque engine, no offence to anyone here, but if you want to utalize the engines real power that it makes in the bottom end and get the full performance out of the engine I would suggest a Torque pipe.

But if you want an RPM pipe here's one from Team Associated

What type of fuel are you using, what percentage of nitro?

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread

did you check the temp, is it overheating? Sounds like a hot engine to me or a blown one.
