This is a tough hobbie for someone that doesn't have a source of income. I work full time and if I didn't hold back I be broke.

So between the Volcano SV and a Traxxas VXL what would everyone pick? Keep in mind that if I get the VXL I will be getting a 3s LIPO.

The only other thing I have a question with the Redcat is how Redcat Nick is always saying ".............is back in stock". This makes me think that hobby dealers may not always have parts or it might take an excessive amount of time. Has this ever happend? And it seems like I'll either get a hurricane or volcano. Thanks for all the help and patients.

There isn't a manufacturer in the business that doesn't run out of one part before others so whats the point[:@] Maybe you should go to the HPI blog or Associated............They are just 2 that I have back orders at. If you bought a Honda and wanted parts chances are you would find a lot of there parts on back order:DAnd even if you had a bad heart or something chances are you would have a back order/ darn I hope not:( back orders are a way of life for everything sorry[&:]

So would the volcano be good for grass and dirt or should I just get a 1/8 like everyone says? Fuel cost is a problem and 1/8 is going to use a lot more fuel right?

ehroof 11-05-2007 07:11 PM

RE: Volcano SV review?

bro, how old are you? and yes, bigger engine uses more fuel.

15, the reason I said too fast is becase my track is only 5 feet wide and there are a lot of turns so super-speed isn't that big.

VOLCANO SV

RE: Volcano SV review?

So how does durability and quality of the volcano compare to a rustler?

I was also thinking of a nitro stampede because I already know it's durable and it has more upgradable parts.

Kodiac400 11-05-2007 07:49 PM

RE: Volcano SV review?

cen at this rate you will be 42 before you pick a nitro..........................get the volcano sv.

ehroof 11-05-2007 07:56 PM

RE: Volcano SV review?

i would rate them the same, the volcano is a better basher and off roader since its 4 wheel drive, i own them both so i can give my opinion, the nitro rustler, elect. rustler and the volcano. the stampede is a rustler just higher off the ground.

cen123 11-05-2007 07:59 PM

RE: Volcano SV review?

Well. I have to decide soon because I'm getting money to spend soon. So, either I can buy better batteries and a charger for my stampede and at christmas get brushless or I can get reciever packs for my nitro and at christmas get a nitro.

Does anyone know how a brushless would do in grass as to how long the batteries would last?

ehroof 11-05-2007 08:03 PM

RE: Volcano SV review?

Why is the sky blue? How many legs does a milipede have? Why am i here? How large is the universe? How old is God?

Just figured i would add a few more questions to this

RE: Volcano SV review?

There is no power like brushless power on a good set up. Brushless has torque from bottom to top unlike a nitro which has a power band. How long a battery lasts depends on what kind of batteries you use. Lipo batteries are prefered.
