RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread

If you ordered the truck from Clermont hobbies or all about fun hobbies tehy should have the roto start for it.

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread

does anyone know if if possible to run it in the snow, i go a bit then it dies, is that tuning or jsut how they are

twomanytoys 01-25-2008 03:13 AM

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread

Thats all tuning. They run really well once tuned right.

kael040 01-28-2008 01:09 PM

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread

k sweet, watcha think the coldest they should run is?

ehroof 01-28-2008 02:25 PM

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread

you can run them in any temp as long as they stay pretty warm, like 180 min, you can wrap the cooling head with aluminum foil to keep the temp up. they are usually pretty hard to start when they are cold and you dont want to lean the needles too much to keep temps up or you can ruin the engine due to lack of oil.

kael040 01-28-2008 03:19 PM

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread

so u think -40 C aint to cold then

ehroof 01-28-2008 03:25 PM

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread

its perfect, lol. i would suggest waiting for it to get a little warmer, lol. if its broken in, maybe you could try but if its for break in, no way bro.

kael040 01-28-2008 04:04 PM

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread

yeah its broken in, k i was just making sure, if it dies when it hit snows wat should i adjust?

ehroof 01-28-2008 04:12 PM

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread

probably too cold bro, -40c is a little cold for a nitro engine, lol

kael040 01-28-2008 04:42 PM

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread

well it does that at like minus 5 to when i hit the snow

ehroof 01-28-2008 05:36 PM

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread

thats cold too, i am a little confused when you say it stops running when you hit the snow, does any snow get on the engine? it may coold the engine too much and stops it from running, its very hard to get a nitro to run good in 20F weather, never the less -5c. maybe try wrapping the head with aluminum.

kael040 01-28-2008 11:46 PM

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread

k ill try that, lol after it warms up it like minus 40 here

Does anyone know of a larger fuel tank for the Avalanche?

ehroof 02-04-2008 12:24 AM

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread

not really, thats a pretty large tank on it now. I dont think you will find anything, i think most if not all 1/8 have the same capacity.
