Bad Steering Servo??

Well I just picked up a Lightning today and believe I have a bad steering servo. I noticed right away that the steering did not want to return to center; when I would turn right and let off it would continue to slightly pull right, when I would turn left it would continue to pull slightly left. My first thought was the servo saver but that appeared to be working fine. We continued the break in and on the 5th tank the problem suddenly got worse. It has little to no power turning when sitting on the ground, even with the wheels in the air it is very slow. I have checked all the connections to the receiver and all appears to be fine. Did I just get a bad steering servo out of the box??

Below is a link to a video showing what it is doing:

i had the same thing happen to my elect tornado today, its no biggie, i would suggest getting a decent servo, i put a futaba in. most rtr electronics are just decent, nothing spectacular. this was the first servo i had go bad on any of my redcats.

What servo do you recommend for steering? Not looking to spend too much.;)

futaba, you can get one for like $12, you dont need anything crazy unless you want to spend the $

Will the futaba servo be more powerful then the stock one or about the same??? It basically comes down to; should I get a stock servo replaced under warranty for free or spend the $15 for a Futaba servo?? If it is a considerable difference in speed/ torque with the Futaba then I'm all for it.

Redcat does have upgraded servo's for your car here is the web sight and then call them up and tell them you want the upgraded servo and pay the price in difference. the upgraded servo is at the bottom of the page.

you can do like he says but i would just opt for the futaba servo, its better than the stock one. i just swapped the stock one out for the futaba with the same number, 3003.

Why not buy the Futaba servo AND get a warranty replacement to have as a backup? Spare parts is a good thing!
