Now it's time for the radio system, servos, and engine:D

It really does look great! I'm planning to (eventually) do this to my Volcano.

thanks guys.. I will take it in the dirt..:) I have changed one servo so far with a Futaba and the rado is my vintage Airtronics XL2P radio. Works reall nice. I have a 6v ni mh battery for the transmitter too and now the servos are VERY fast.:) BTW the car has bearings throughout too and the diffs are smooth as silk. I can grab and spin a wheel and they actually spin for a few seconds.. not instantly stop. Its very loose..:) The engine is HPI Nitro star 15 and its wayyyy faster then the original VTX 16..

is it alot heavier than stock?

RE: final install of project $300 shockwave

Eddie.. I never weighted it before but now its 4.6 lbs without fuel. For comparison my Sons 1/8th nitro car is 8.4 lbs without fuel. Can someone weight a stock Shockwave for comparison??
I sure does not FEEL any heavier then it was stock

*update** I just checked on a GS SB1 1/10th 4wd truggy and its weight stock is 5.1 lbs for comparison,. Mostly plastic parts:)

I received an aluminum part and it was the same weight or maybe lighter than stock.
