RE: Drift tires for the lighnting
Are those the Redcat tires or another brand?? Redcat has some listed on their site, I've been waiting for them to show in stock. I was actually thinking of covering an old set of tires with tape and seeing what happens.

RE: Drift tires for the lighnting
i dont know if they are redcats, says pre order on that page. You can ask clermont hobby if they are redcats
|
RE: Drift tires for the lighnting
Is it just me or does it look as if the Redcat drift tires are dual compound, plastic in the center and possibly rubber on the edges??
|
RE: Drift tires for the lighnting
its probably plastic that has an edge that is rounded off so it doesnt grab when going around a corner, the sharp edge
|
RE: Drift tires for the lighnting
mine are not redcat . Plus there cheaper lol.
|
RE: Drift tires for the lighnting
how many do you get? i didnt even pay attention when i ordered
|
RE: Drift tires for the lighnting
12
|
RE: Drift tires for the lighnting
You mean when you order it you get 12?
|
RE: Drift tires for the lighnting
There are 12 tires in a sealed pack.
|
RE: Drift tires for the lighnting
Lol, I was wondering how you were doing your math. I had assumed it was for a set of 4. That is a smokin deal for 12 tires.
|
RE: Drift tires for the lighnting
nice, enough for 3 cars or alot of drifting, dennis, you are them man
|
RE: Drift tires for the lighnting
Did you get those drift tires in today?? I am looking forward to a video of those. I just went down to the park to do some drifting on the basketball court, of coarse when I get there I find that my glow igniter was dead.[sm=sad_smile.gif]
PS: Hows your old lady been doing?? She starting to get around like normal again?? -Derek |

Boy that looks like a lot of fun, I really need to pick up a set of those tires. Any idea what Dennis is using as a prefilter on that lightning??
|
RE: Drift tires for the lighnting
vet wrap, its a bandage for animals thats breathable and sticks to itself, its a great pre filter, just put one, when it gets dirty, take it off and re wrap it, most pet stores have it.
|
RE: Drift tires for the lighnting
Yes Eddie is right. I use vet wrap on all my cars.
Note, we also locked the diffs with jb weld :) |

Speaking of diffs, I just got back not even 5 min ago from running my Tornado offroad in a grass field. For some reason at the end of my last tank I lost power to the rear wheels. The limited slip diff does not seem to be working, I'll spin one tire and the other does nothing. It is pretty packed with damp grass but the wheels do not have any resistance when I spin them so I don't think anything is binding up. Do you veterans have any idea what could be going on?? As I said I have not had time to tear into it, I'll clean it up and give more details later tonight.
**UPDATE** Just got done cleaning it up a bit, still didn't tear into it, just visually inspecting. After cleaning it up and with the wheels off when I spin one rear axle it spins the other one forward as if it had a locked diff. The only thing that comes to mind is maybe the grub screw in the rear center drive cup came loose or fell out. This would obviously kill the power to the rear wheels but wouldn't it also cause the diff to act the way it is?? I'll give it a closer look in just a bit. **UPDATE #2** I just got done looking it over and think I found the problem. It looks like I broke the rear center dogbone. I believe the diff should be fine. Take a look at the picture below. -Derek |
