Tornado steel clutchbell
Purchased the steel clutchbell (from Clermontmotorsports) for the Tornado and it wouldn't seat properly with the original stock washers setup/order. The motor shaft(?) does not protrude passed the outer bearing thus when the hex screw is tightened the clutchbell is completely bond up and wont spin at all.[sm=confused.gif]
Emailed Clermont and was told that they never had an issue with this.[sm=confused.gif] So, I had to eliminate all the flat washers, except for the lock washer, to get the motor shaft to protrude passed the outer bearing. Now, the clutchbell can be fully tightened down and spin freely with no play. I guess time will tell how important those orignal washers really are. Anyone else had this problem? |
RE: Tornado steel clutchbell
You did the right thing I have had the same problem on one out of about 20+ VX engines and it could happen to any of them with the precision machine work from China[&o]
