They are a little more money, but try to get one with a laser sight on it. We use them in our shop to test turbo temps and the like. You can find them on ebay. I don't know if you have a Harbor Freight in your area but they are a tool store that have great prices.

harbour frieght is the place to go, they have cheap tools also, there not as sturdy as say craftsman or mac or anything like that but they do the job

I stay away from their hand tools...I bust my knuckles enuff....but we have used their battery powered impacts on race car wheels for 5 yrs now and they still runnin strong

The one I use is an Alltrade D:S= 10:1 laser infrared thermometer does really good :D

ORIGINAL: Kemo Dont order any of the Field of View guns that have 1:1 optics... they are not accurate at all. My thinking is that the smaller the diameter, the more accurate the measurement is. Is my thinking backwards? Does 1:2 mean at 1 inch it measure a diameter of 0.5 inch? |

Get the O'donell TGX1 i love it it is about 30$ hear in canada but down there i saw it as cheep as 15 or 20$
it is a good one... it has a stop watch, C and F for the US and Canada, Changeable emissivity rateing so you can get a proper Read out with difrent materials... |
