Im dad gumn new to this whole thing. Have ran RC aircraft, boats, heli( well, just the Reflex they sell at WalMart), Anyhow, I need the part numbers for the exhaust manifold screws for the VX 18 engine on my VolcanoSV. The things just vibrated right out, and the truck started screaming like the devil himself.

Any nuts I need part numbers for as well.

ONE MORE THING ( Ala Columbo) Is there a completly detailed exploded diagram of the VX engine with all the part numbers around> The one in the manual does not have all the stuff, like the one way bearing, the screws I am looking for, etc. HELP PLEASE!!

I'm not sure about your part numbers but if you have a chance I would check your local hobby shop for the screws and one way bearing first, it will be really cheap and if you can find it there it will sure beat waiting a week for it to ship! I've been told Ace hardware is the best place to look for screws also if you hobby shop doesnt have them.

While your at it I would suggest changing your exhaust manifold gasket whenever you take the exhaust manifold off the gaskets are part number 2299:

Tell me about after run oil. I am using a ready to run fuel that my dealer says has extra castor and synth oil for breraking in, ( nice thing to break it in right anyhow..) But the after run oil he sold me, Pacer pt 31 oil, is 1) expensive...4 bucks for an ounce! And 2) once I use it, the engine ne eds three mules, Hulk Hogan, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Captian America, The FAntastic Four and anyone else you can dreram up to get her started again! She balks, and will not fire, until I remove the glow plug, and flush the cylinder out with fuel.
Is there something else I can use to protect the engine, AND get her to start easy when I am ready to run?

Your using way too much. I only use that kind of afterrun oil and never had that problem. That's our best selling after run oil too by the way. you only need like 4 drops at most down the carb, then give the pull start a few good pulls to throw it around inside the engine and your good to go. You can also use WD-40 as an after run oil, BUT DO NOT spray it in the engine when it's hot it will have absolutly no effect on a hot engine. WD-40 moves AWAY from heat and burns off(smokes off), so you need to use it after the engine has cooled for a little bit.

+1 on that. Also make sure that the piston is BDC.

Yes, you are putting way too much afterrun oil into teh engine, nd worse, letting it sit too long in between runs such taht it gums up.

Speaking of WD40, if your engine becomes gummed up again in the future, WD40 is actualy good in dissolving the gum and lossiening it back up again. Depending on how badly gummed up it is, you might have to let teh WD40 soak in for awhile, even overnight. As for using WD40 as an afterrun, I guess it is okay for overnight storage or over a few nights, but not really for long term. I personally prefer to use afterrun if I know I will not run my RCs for a week.

As for applying afterrun, do just like said aforementiond: only put in 3-5 drops. But prior to even putting in aftrrun oil, burn off all the left over nitro inside the engine. Put a glow ignitor on it, and set it on the bump start or pull on the pull start until the engine will no longer ignite. Then apply afterrun oil. Dont forget this last step: after you put in teh afterrun drops, pull the pull starter a few times or put it on the starter box and let it turn the crank several rotations. You want to distribute the afterrun so that it coats the innards and helps protect them.

As for easier starting, especially for any engine that has not yet been fully broken in, I strongly suggest you preheat the engine before starting. Preheating an engine that is being broken in or not yet fully broken in can save you alot of haeat aches.

and just how does a guy preheat his engine? I have no clue for sure. Set it in the over at 350 degrees? Or microwave it? I am kidding about this of course, just wanting to know...
