Sorry to bring back from death that old post, but my friend &amp; I are currently doing this conversion with our Backdraft 8E.<div>
</div><div>I was wondering what diff oil (front, center, rear) to use for a touring setup?</div><div>
</div><div>We will be racing/drifting for fun in covered parking lot during winter</div><div>
</div><div>And while we're at it, what oil would you suggest for the Buggy version?</div>

wow, im glad this post got brought back. I never saw it before.

what a sweet idea. wonder why redcat hasnt thought of slapping a 1/8 car body and tires and selling it?

and onroad car takes much less abuse as well. so the diffs should hold up awsome for this use.

bet it could be geared up a fair bit as well. probly achieve 50-55mph without overheating.

also, that paint job is simply wicked!

Looks good!

I ended up using the same bodie that you did when I did mine, there doesn't seem to be alot of options in this size. Does anyone know of some?

<div>Done @ 95%, I still need to find a way to lower the suspension and get stiffer shocks to avoid ripping off the body.</div><div>

wow - back from the dead :)  great job - please post pics - we never got to see zielke's.

What camera and lense are you using, by the way?  you get an amazing bokeh at such a short DoF...  very nice!

So this is just a stock 8e with an on road body, on-road buggy tires and lowered suspension? I may have to do this, I can see myself getting 110mph out of a car like this on 6s without too much trouble.

Hey guys, I see the thread has some new adds so I thought I would continue on a new build. I still have the body but sold the chassis. I had another one on the shelf so I thought I would make another one since I never really got to drive the one I built. Here are some pics of the new one I built with Ofna chrome wheels and I added dark tint to them to give them a darked out chrome look. Still need to get some tires on it.

Yeh, I wish they had come out with an onroad version of the 8e.

The 8e's are fairly tough...but an onroad version would be perfect as onroad driving isnt as harsh on the chassis/diffs as offroad driving.
and there are so few 1/8 onroads out there.
