carb needle o-rings ???

1 Attachment(s)
Attn REDCAT ... Between myself and my friends we have 2 dozen Redcat nitro vehicles ... all of these vehicles need hi-speed needle o-rings ... after a little use the o-ring no longer holds the needle from turning ... Redcat does not show a replacement part for this problem ... and I can't be the only one with this issue ... and I am not buying a new carb just for an o-ring ... these o-rings are not normal stock in any o-ring kit ... any idea's Redcat Mike ???

Thanks Chris :)

RE: carb needle o-rings ???

I went to Tower hobby and bought O rings for a OS motor's carb
I believe these were the ones that worked:

As per a tip I read in Extreme RC, add a drop of blue loctite to the threads of your carb needles, and they wont self adjust.. Also treat the "O" ring with some "green slime" (AE) to preserve it.. Cheers!

JUST A LIGHT FILM OF DIALECTRIC GREASE LASTS ALONG TIME AND PRESERVES THE RUBBER BARELY GET SOME ON YOUR FINGER TIPS TO WHERE ITS ALMOST WIPED OFF YOUR FINGER TIPS AND APPLY .  NOT IN EXESSES TO MUCH WILL MAKE IT TURN ON ITS OWNE

RE: carb needle o-rings ???

I am not surprised that Redcat has not responded to this post ... they have no answer ... such a small part but big problems ... I have since found the correct O-rings ... and not from Tower Hobbys at $4.49 each ... I paid $5.00 shipped for 50 pieces and they work good ... the size is 3mm ID x 1.5mm CS ... and yes a little dielectric grease does prolong the O-rings from drying out from the methanol ... thanks again for NOTHING Redcat ... after I get rid of my Redcat junk its gone forever ... :)
