RE: RedCat Racing Planes??????

its funny cause i have owned the jet tiger(under a different name, from a different company) before.
i didnt like it, as it was underpowered.
but as usual, redcat has changed things before they sell it. the power plant is better, much more power.
and they are selling it for less!

Go Redcat!

i like the looks of the P-51 mustang. it looks so nice in the air, might have to get one next summer.

I was looking at getting the Jetiger from him just I have read that is hard to fly for a begginer.. Have you used the flight sim software.. who makes it?? is it any good?

RE: RedCat Racing Planes??????

it's the flying model simulator software. just google FMS and you'll find the site.

FMS is free, but didnt work right on my windows 7.
i had bought a controler that is just like the plane radios but plugs into the ubs port.
since FMS didnt work, i ended up buying clearview flight sim(you pay for it then download it) $40. its a pretty decent flight sim for the money.
plus, once you download it, you can then download future upgardes, new plane models ect. and there are hobbiest with computer skillz who make models, that you can just download and put in the right folder and then they are in the game.
the sim has heli's and planes of all types. plus you can adjust the "speed" of the game. slow it down or speed it up.
and there is "wind" conditions you can alter as well.
its a good "all around" flight trainer for the new guys who want to start flying, but want to practice before taking their $150 plane out and possibly crashing it on the 1st try.

yes, that is FMS. they just package it with the esky controler.
i have the dynam RC controler that i bought off ebay, it came with FMS on a disk. but like i said it didnt run right on windows 7. i could play it, but with the graphics turned WAY DOWN. it looked really crappy. the sky was solid blue, no clouds. there was no detail at all.
the clearview is the best low-cost flight trainer. after that one, there is real flight, but that costs well over $100.

It looks like the New Redcat planes come with FMS and the controller for the plane can be hooked up via USB to work with the provided software.. just looking for someone who has used it yet...... Might try to get Ali on Youtube to post a vid on the Flight sim.

RE: RedCat Racing Planes??????

i forgot that the included radio can be plugged into the computer.

since thats the case, i would pony up the $40 for clear view. FMS is ok if you really just want the very basics. but clear view looks nice, has better flight charactoristics of different plane/heil types.
you can fly a b52 superfortress, a lightweight 3d foamy, a basic highwing trainer, a EDF jet, a jet engined planes and sea planes and more.
since the quality is better, i pick it up and play alittle through the winter. keep my skillz sharp for when warmer weather comes and i can take my planes out.

I just want the basics for now... thanks for the info... I already have an E flight Heli so I am familiar with 4 chan controllers will we see.

RE: RedCat Racing Planes??????

i can fly a 4ch plane like a mad-man. but i have trouble with helis.
even on clearview sim i have a hard time with the helis. but i can fly any plane on the sim.
so, IMO, planes are easier.

RE: RedCat Racing Planes??????

Anyone else have a new Redcat plane yet or has flown one or played the Flight sim yet??  I looked online at the manual and it says nothing about the supplied Flight sim software CD and USB Port cable........ Is this something Redcat added after they made up the manual..... on youtube Ali talks about it and shows it....... he says it is not very good but compared to Reaflight G2 (i think) that flight sim costs more the the plane itself.so if it can help get a newbs feet wet in flying airplanes better then nothing...... thanks for any info.</p>
