NEW REVIEW: The World Models 30% P-17 Stearman ARF

Some may call me lucky. I would agree! One of the reasons that the PT-17 is so close to my heart is that I have a personal connection to one of these great airplanes. I have an uncle that owns one of these beautiful biplanes. It was restored locally (in my home state of Minnesota) a few years ago, and I have had the privilege of getting up close to the plane for photos and even going for a ride in the Stearman! There is just something about the open cockpit feeling when I'm up in the air that is AWESOME! (For the record, that is me sitting in the front seat of my uncle's plane getting ready to go for a ride - Yep, I am THAT lucky!)

    NEW REVIEW: Helion Verdikt

MANY R/C MANUFACTURER‘S have a beginner’s vehicle and for Helion-RC, the Verdikt falls into this category. Available at participating Hobby Town stores and online makes this accessible to the masses.

Being available at a local hobby shop like Hobby Town is a distinct advantage when it comes to support for theVerdikt beginner. Should you still consider this as an option if there is not a Hobby Town location near you? It’s not a problem, but having a local hobby shop that supports what you drive as a beginner can be valuable.

That said, there is a lot of good information online as well, including helion-rc themselves and helion-rc.com. Taking a look at their website, you’ll quickly find an extensive part’s page, a support page with service videos, the manual and an exploded view, along with all the contact information needed to get help. No matter what you buy, it’s important to know you can get what you need, when you need it.

    NEW REVIEW: Helion Contakt

The last Helion-RC review I did was the 1/12th scale Verdikt Short Course Truck. Next in the Helion-RC 1/12th lineup is the Contakt 12TR Truggy. Like the Verdikt, the Contakt is targeted to beginner's and there are a lot of similarities between the two vehicles. As you would expect, there are also differences as the Contakt is a truggy and the Verdikt is a short course truck.

A truggy doesn't really exist outside of r/c, but is generally made up of a buggy drivetrain and suspension with larger wheels that stick well outside standard fenders. They're usually wider with a longer wheelbase, effectively making them more stable and a little easier to drive than a buggy, yet more agile than a larger truck.

I say usually, because in this case the Contakt shares it's chassis and suspension with the Verdikt I previously reviewed. The wheels are wider and taller and it comes equipped with a 390 Brushed motor, but I couldn't find any other differences.

RCU Review: Arrma Senton 6s BLX

The Arrma Senton is a 1/10th, wait no, it's a 1/8th...er, well actually it is a 1/10th 'Super Duty' Short Course truck, but really it's a 1/8th. Confused? Don't worry, I'm going to tell you all about it right now. If any of you saw my preview of this truck on RCTech where I predicted it would be a winner, I didn't actually know that I would be the one to do the review at the time, so it seems like I'm marking my own homework today, never a bad thing, lol. Let's see if I was right.
