Default Gnat

Almost finished my modified gnat. its powered by a os .10fp. it uses wood instead of metal for the fuse and micro radio gear instead of standard. hopefully it will be able to get off the ground!!!!

Like the landing gear!  I was thinking about getting rid of my Gnat and building one of the Spa3dt's or something similar because it's bigger with LG.  I don't like hand launching.  Your build is looking good!

Is your LG steerable or just straight line deal?

its a straight line deal. since the plane had no rudder to begin with so i didnt want to fiddle with it. besides i take off of an actual T-45 runway so i have plenty of room

Yeah, that's cool.  I had never thought about doing that.  Adding a steerable one on the Gnat would be a pain and not really needed.  Might have to look into that!

May be just a long shot, but could it possibly be the orientation of your fuel and vent lines coming out of your tank?  Don't know what the piping looks like inside, but usually, I see vent lines on top curved towards the top of the tank.  Supply lines are in the center, or lower than the vent line with the line running into the tank...... Maybe there's a kink or something is goob'd up inside the tank.  Just a thought 'cause I SURE ain't an engine guru! :-)  That just caught my eye in your pics.

Unless the orientation is correct and the fuel and vent lines are reversed on your engine.  Been there, done that too!  LOL  But usually when I do that, the engine only runs for short bursts so I've got to where I figure that one out pretty quick.  [:@]

Hi planeboy95
I'm going out on a limb on this one. I hate it when a new RC flier has a bad experience and as a result drops out of this wonderful hobby. I have been waiting for someone with Gant experience to advice you on this plane because I have never flown one. I did have a SPAD3DT and I believe there is some similarity between these two planes. None have come forward so I will stumble into it. I believe the Gant is not a plane to learn to fly RC with. Sure, it can be done, but it is far from being a trainer plane. I suggest you get someone to help you learn to fly.
