Default SPADET or debonair from only 2mil coro?

Hi
I am new to these forums and want to build a spadet or debonair.
I have a lot of 2mil coro lying around and was wondering if I can use only this for the spadet or debonair with coro fuse (since I can't get pvc pipe here), or if there would be a strength issue. if yes, which modifications would I have to make?
I tried to search this, but couldn't find anything, so if there is already something about this could you please post the link.
which would you prefer? spadet or debonair?
thanks

I would think that you could use the 2mm and where 4mm is needed for strength, just laminate 2 layers of 2mm. Run the flutes at 90 degress and you have "plycoro" which likely would be better and stronger than one layer of 4mm. the recommendd contact cement should bond the 2 layers together. Even more layers could be used to stronger effect. Just a thought. I can't easily get 2mm myself and have to try to work around just using 4mm.

I *love* my Debonair.  I'm currently building a Spadet just to build one so I don't have personal experience with that one.  All the reports you see are good though so I think you'll be happy with either one.  Good luck!

P.M.RC,
I have owned a Spadet and instructed students on both. You can't really make a wrong choice between the two. The Deb is a bit more like a Goldberg Eagle II as it is a bit faster and less floaty. The Spadet is like it's namesake, the Sig LT 40 Kadet that has more wing. They are a little different but both quite good.

I would use the second inner layer of 2 mil much as balsa kits have an inner layer of plywood. Cut a bit of it out where it is not needed and concentrate on stress areas such as around the motor mount, wing seat and landing gear mount areas. Be very stingy in the tail as much as you can. You have a fine chance to get a lighter plane this way and that is always good.

Rule #1 for spad building is its OK to use what you have on hand
