The dual aileron servos give it plenty of roll authority!
I set the balance at 6 1/2 in. back for the leading edge and it
seems a good bit more pitch sensitive than my stock Spa3D was.
Weight, about 4 3/4 lbs according to my kitchen scale (right on the est. for the stock T version). May dial in a little more aileron reflex. Had a delay in getting the low speed/transition set-up on the new engine so I only took it up for a short shake down. The O.S. .46 and 12 x 4 give it much more power than my earlier one (TT GP .42 powered). Pulled vertical without meaning to on lift-off, cranked it into a tight turn to keep it in close. Then it began to feel familiar. have to be carefull transitioning to harrier or it will just go vertical. Sweet harrier to landing easily done. Will try out the flat spins and hovering next weekend!

Ciao,

SC

Thanks guys. Alas, mine usually shed the new look rather quickly, as I fly from a dirt strip. I have to add that I only shortened the alum tube 4 inches from stock specs because I couldn't make it look GeBee/stubby enough when I added the profile fuse. I'll likely pay for taking such liberties with pitch sensitivity. Quick way to loose some weight however!

Peeshooter,

I think you should call it the Phoenix.....sweet paint job. In kindergarten I spent all my time eating paste.....the way I paint you can tell I'm still pretty much stuck at that level.

Happy Flying!!! Long Live Spad!!!

Peashooter 40,
That is way cool man! Love the flames. I remember you posting some of her artwork in an earlier thread. You are one luck guy to have her help in finding the inner beauty of your Spads.
I am a fan.
