Default Spad Shockflyer? ( scaled up )

Has anyone built a Shockflyer scaled up for 40 size using the same design as the Depron version? the shape should be strong, and the layout is already proven to be good at 3D flight.

i fancy having a go at one..

same here im well up for one ive been thinking u could as i think u said screw the engine mount to the corro maybe with a piece large ply the other side to spread the load. Servos screwed into corro with ply the other side and the wing and stab glued and screwed in place with plastic l brackets much like the triangular stock on foam shockys. Any other ideas?

There's a few 40"-44" 3D foamies out there. Check foamyfactory.com and there's a really good one there called the "shoked extra 300s" which is just a scaled up shock flyer. Don't know if you're wanting coro or foamy but this one's really good.

looks nice, coro would be my choice with a MVVS 40 for power.

That's the beauty of SPAD. You can experiment, and if it doesn't work, you're only out the price of a sheet of coro

There are plenty of flat-plate airfoil SPADs and profile SPADs out there that prove the viability of the concept. All you need to do is figure out how to combine the two.

I remember a while ago, a year or 2, a guy did do this with 4 mil. This was before the current shocky foamy craze. He used no spars, so the wing flexed a bit. If you use a CF rod spar it will work. His flew great and hovered well.

I made mine from 3/4 inch thick foam with a 46 on it, but coro would work too. These flat plate wings actually work pretty well if you keep the speed down. They are great for 3D stuff.

I don't. I had a video of it that I downloaded, but I can't find it now.

You could try making "L" brackets from gutter pipe to hold the stab on.
