Sign vinyl works great, but make sure you get the "5 year" kind.
Not only can you make any kind of insignia's, striping, flames, etc. you might want, but it also works great to seal up the rear cut out in the fuse on most SPAD's. I use a blow dryer (the wife's) to heat it up and then let it shrink tight as a drum - clean, easy, and best of all CHEAP!!!!
I've been experimenting with covering wing tips with it, too. So far the best I've found is to lay the wing onto the vinyl, trace it and cut out the shape of the tip PLUS about 1/2" of excess all the way around. I try to make as few "overlaps" aroud the edge as possible by making "V" shaped cuts into the overlaps as I go. Then I finish the tip off with a 1"strip of vinyl all the way around the edge of the wing (except for the rons) to secure the "tip cover" to the wing. Finish it off with the hair dryer to tighten it up. So far no problems, peeling, etc.

Stop by the local sign shop (bring your airplane...it will blow them away)...and see if they have any scraps of the vinyl...they throw a lot away!

I brought one of my SPAD's to a local sign shop (literally right next door to the Hobby Shop) like Tatoo said - they were blown away. Not only did they give me a great price on "by the foot", but they gave all kinds of scraps, too.
They also told me to give them a call every couple of weeks in case they have any extra "seconds" on signs (free coro!!!)
By the way, buying a little first seems to "prime the pump" for future donations....

How does coro hold paint. It looks to me that a lot of the signs made of coro have been painted on. Anyone try it and how does it hold up.
