How much Corplast does it take to make a SPAD plane?
I'm looking to make a high-wing trainer plane for myself, with about a 4' to 5' wingspan with 6" to 8" wing chord. How many sq feet of plastic do I need to make such a wing? I know I should double the surface area of the wings at very least, but do I need more plastic than that? How large should I make the stabilizer and rudder?

Go check out the Debonair plans at www.spadtothebone.com the wing plans, etc. (and the plane) is perfect for what you want.

Yer gonna need several sheets of 4mm and 2mm, in different colors, because once you build 1 you'll be hooked like the rest of us. Don't take that step unless you're prepaired for more fun in RC than thought possible. You may even be shunned by the old die-hard balsa crowd.

All depends on the plane, a QHOR takes a few scraps, may be 1/4 seet, a coro fuzz Deb probably uses a whole sheet. depends a lot on the plane and design

Coroplast come in 4 x 8 foot sheets, and one sheet should be plenty to built your plane (if you mind it all the same color) with spare coro left over. One sheet will build 3 complete 48"span airplanes. One sheet will build 4 complete QHORS. One sheet averages around $8-$10.

Good point, it depends on the size of the sheet.
in AUS they are mostly 6x4 but the advertising signs (which are free, dont ya love free) are mostly about 3x2 but splice a few together and ya can still build a 60" wing.
