How big is the vert stab? Did you reinforce the coro spanwise? What's the engine mt made of? Does the coro flex , like on the PBF? Looks great, by the way!

Default Rudder

You drill thru the center wood piece at the front and the rear of the rudder location and screw the nylon bolt in from the bottom into the flutes of the coro and it serves as a post to hold the rudder vertical and in place.

Good luck, John

It may be too tail heavy. I tried on with the CG about 8" back and it would not fly, move it up to about 6" and it flew like it was on rails. It's worth a shot.

Yeah after seeing that little green delta fly at your fly-in, we just had to have some. So I built one for a .15 and one for a .46. Now we are working on a foam one for a .064 just like the one down there.

It is one I made based on the deminsions of my wild wiz .15. It's funny how the wiz CG is sopposed to be at 8" and when the spad version with a flat wing it would not fly at all. With the CG at about 6" it tracks smooth as glass. Go figure.

Default Purple 24" .15 coro delta. Swap meet style.

I built a PBF style(flat 4mm coro) delta, to the DDust specs(I could not get concise dimensions here), except a single vert stab. Powered by a LEO .37. I stiffened many of the flutes with skewers and poly. The 1st flight was with the 8x8, spinning wide open, light toss into the wind, and it went spinning flat, directly into the ground. No damage, except ego and a prop. Convinced there was too much pitch, I put a 10x4 on it and heaved it again. This time it flew but was very pitch incensitive, and at the same time, prone to tip stalling. Any time I gave it hard up, it would roll off badly. Low rates were 5/16 up and down, high were about 5/8 up and down. Balance was 6.75 behind the le of the coro.

1.) Are they all so pitch incensitive and want to roll off in a hard loop, or is it a balance thing?

For real speed, I think I need less flex, even with the 10x4 I couldn't go much over 1/2 throttle, so I'll put a DDust proper together.
Here's a pic:

The .40 LA is more like the power of a .25 BB, and not much heavier.

Default DDUST

What is the wing span? seem like very little area 18?

I would lengthen and widen up a little (more stable)

CG is a fine line I have found on these.

This is not very fancy! I hope everybody can read it? Those fingers belong to the real boogerboy (stewart). Please email me if I can help anybody build my version, free help of coarse! I not trying to sell anything here! I won't be doin' much message board talk anymore. I have more work to do than I can get done! Also some us are politically incorrect now, or atleast that's what we're told. So some people don't want hear from us anyway! I'll still be around to talk on here some and post a thread ever now and then! Thanks Chris Haslam!

Default Thanks DL for the kind words!

We thank you DL for the kind words and right back at ya! DL I use 1/4" marine grade ply for all my splines and engine mounts. For my delta's and a .15 make a 1" wide x 18" long spine. .25 1 1/8" wide or a .40! Hair more than 1 3/16" wide. Then cut two engine mounts 1" wide x 6" long. Glue your 2 engine mounts to your spline and make the mounts extend past your spline 2". Make 2 1/8" lightply 1" wide x 3" and glue them across your engine and spline across the back and one even with the coro. This ties your mounts and spline together. Glue all this to your delta, pbf, circle, pig or whatever crazy design you can think of and leave the two inches extending past your design. Find some kind of scrap 1" wide x 2" long the same thickness of the coroplast. Make 2 of these and glue them to your design to make the middle part of your engine mount sandwich. Then make a 1/8" lightply or thin paneling 3" wide x 7" long, cut out for your engine size and glue to the top. Use 4-40 bolts and nuts to mount your engine. Put one 4-40 threw the center of your spline and front cross support and 2 in the back one on each side. Now you have the strongest lightest engine mount and spline I can think of! You have to know this is my personal opinion! The top plate acts as a big washer and you'll never pull your bolts threw this rig. And I have yet to break one! I will help anybody that needs it! Thanks Boogerboy!

Default Broken link

Boogerboy,

Your link above dead ends. I'd love to build one of these but would prefer to use a proven solution. let me know if you get the plans back up.

Default THE DELTA LINK IS BACK ON! WHAT I'M DOIN' NOW.

I put the delta link back up. Swap meet season is comin up soon and we can't wait! We're comin out with new products at the arlinton tx trade show. And of course I'll give away all the info for all your do it yourself builders!
We have been very busy this summer! I don't mess with r/c very much in the summer. I'm mussell shell fishin', divin up sunken logs from old day loggin and sellin stuff on ebay. I've got into sellin motorcycle parts on ebay and doin pretty good! You should give it a tray!
I've got all kinds of emails about what I'm up to that's why I'm boring most of you with this info! Here is a link of some of the stuff I'm doin. I built the wood boat and trailer "blue one". The white boat is r/c Rita's, the flame boat is the real boogerboy's. Also a picture from where we was sellin at the perry ga swap meet. Thanks everybody!

Boogerboy,
Do you have the details on that airboat? I'm in the process of building one now.
L/W? Engine? Finish? Where's the CG? How did you mount the engine, any closeups?

Why do you search for old logs?

Default Thanks

Thank you very much sir for putting the "plans" back up. I'm curious if the coro is folded or if it's a flat piece. If you'd rather, I could just buy the "kit" from you.

Thanks for your help.

Default No problem!

We sell the kits at www.boogerboyhobbies.com. I dive the logs up for $$$$$ I have a white oak log that was fell around 1800 with 60 growth rings per inch. The mussell shells are used in the cultured pearl industry. I have a thread on the r/c universe boat forum about building the airboats. Thanks Chris

Mr. Booger, you are an absolute GENIUS! I wish I would have thought of selling SPADS in complete kits. You are, indeed, 'da man!
