Very nice! How do you hold down your wing?

Nice looking SPAD. I built a very similar wing a while back, but I tried to power it with a .25FX and it didn't fly so well. I have an extra .46LA now, and this may motivate me to try flying that thing again.

This was the last effort:

I love the looks of your Coke plane.

What's the length of your fuselage? It looks a bit shorter than mine. I may cut a new fuse for my old wing, since I used my original fuse for my "Twister" plane.

My fuse is 30". I got the plans off spadtothebone. It's a saterday night special. And the wings are held down buy rubber bands. I was in a hurry to get a pic taken befor I crashed it. We have made a few more. They cheap and fast to build.

Hi Hillis
Nice looking plane. SPAD is all I fly anymore. I notice your plane shows heavy score lines on the top of the wing where the spar goes. I used to do that also. I later decided that the air flow over the wing would be smoother without the score lines. Now all of my wings are smooth at the top. I have not noticed anything negative from this change. If in fact this change is an improvement, it would be nice if there were a way to pass this information along to others.

hey Villa, your right, smooth top wings are much better, I also only do the RNAF type. 4mm on bottom and 2 on top. it makes a much lighter and just as strong wing. its great to have another spadder!!! the sickness has just begun, he crashed it and now he knows how fast and cheap it is to get back in the air
