Default This ones da BOMB!

Check out my latest...... It's a Plastic Concept Planes "Talon" done up in a Japanese scheme. Look closely and you can see I've added a functional bomb drop via a servo mounted on the side opposite the throttle servo. My club is hosting a "Battle of Midway" combat event this weekend complete with carriers painted on the grass and balloons and AA fire in the form of paintballers. I thought it would be fun to be able to bomb the American carrier whilst I snag a few streamers and pop a few balloons.

I was flying my Talon this weekend at SPADfest going after Floyd. Missed him and decided to try using my HOR instead as it's easier to replace. The Talon is a nice, stable platform. I've got landing gear on mine, makes shooting touch n go's much easier. For some reason, and I don't know why, I haven't put a bomb drop on it yet. I've got to get busy there I've only had it two years now?

Nice colors on yours. I'm sure you'll have a blast with the bomb drop.

If you hadn't looked at any of the SPADFest09 coverage, head on over to spadworld.net and take a look. Plenty of pictures and video coming in. Not that Iwant to hijack your thread, I like the Talon.

I posted some pics in the combat forum of my clubs recent combat event. Look for post titled combat over Northford, Ct.
You can see pictures of the Talon in action.

Cool Talon. Sure looks alot a plane I have at home! I got a talon last year right before SPADfest '08. I mounted an OS 55AX on mine and it rips! I had to end up bracing the vertical tails and the base of the horizontal stab. I recomend getting some 5/32" carbon rod reinforce all the control surfaces. Cool bomb drop by the way! You will have blast with this plane.

Just ran across this thread and thought the Talon was a great looking airplane. Any where the plans can be downloaded?

Would love to build one to show the Balsa-rites at the field.

You can buy them in ARF form from http://www.plasticconceptplanes.com/

I have had one for about a year abd a half now and they are alot of fun. They are a real conversation piece at local fun flys.

I went to a fun fly this weekend and I got asked several times where my Talon was. The Contest director said he had a few people come up to him prior to the event asking about, "that weird plastic plane with the forward swept wings." I got a good laugh out of that. Most people will walk by it and look and keep walking, then turn around and look again and ask me "what is that?" I Normally bring it with me to all fun flys but it was in a state repair at the time. The Talon really is a good ambassador for the SPAD movement because it tosses out the idea that all SPAD's are ugly and heavy. The Talon IS kinda heavy but you wouldn't know it with a 55AX and tuned pipe!
