Well it did do as the title says..

The old faithfull fired straight up. This plane was going to be a nose steer and the main UC is back a fair bit..I snapped the nose gear on the bench so tail dragger she is, But at take off she noses over so the take off has full up elevator to keep the tail down.

once she was in the air and trimed out she was very sporty. had fun putting it through her paces. I dont think the engine is at full power, over proped.

On the finals at landing not to sure what happend may be she needed to have the power on but she was gliding with no power then the stall came on and she dropped the nose and hit the deck..Only broke the prop and spinner.......Love the rails SPADs.

Do have vids,,..

Well crashed her again today, dead stick strong winds and over the hills. once the engine stops she glides like a brick then drops the nose and all over...Is this common with short fuse and engine along way fwd? or is this crash because i was in the rotors of the hills.
damaged the wing, Too solid a mount going to use nylon bolts, and the prop again.........

Flew the QHOR46 and had no problem with that at dead stick she just glided perfectly, stayed away from the hills..

Well I modified her again by shifting the wing foward an 1 1/2 inch and put the UC foward so she wouldnt tip over..
Didnt realise how bent she was after the last crash, she was twisted and had a curve down the rail, got a good vice..The wing seat is to ridged, it was bending the rail, tearing the front mount and tore the wing..So she only has a solid seat at the front and using bands to hold the wing on...

Conditions were perfect, ran her up, ready for take off throtle up, throtle down, throtle down! Bugger no throtle control. The servo arm broke off and I had no spare JR arms....A little pissed off. So we thrashed the QHOR. at least I have no planes to rebuild..

Here is my flock of birds, 4 of them are missing.

RE: New SPAD to crash

Well after a failed morning some one had to go swimming to help a plane, never got to her in time she in the Indian Ocean somewere.....The wind was to strong for this plane and a learner......

The tide was too far in if something went wrong again, so i quit while I was ahead.

Sent the new rail (3rd flight) up with a more forward wing and a less stronger wing mount and she cut the sky up, she was even more of a performer...But the best part that I landed her with out her falling out of the sky, Had the power on a fair bit but its in one piece. Will try some more tomorow....

RE: New SPAD to crash

Did a flight today but the engine was way off song, as soon her was up on hieght she went dead stick....I can say it was perfect 3 point landing. A few inches on the wing made a big diff...
Ran the Magnum up again and sounded like she was leaning out or siezing, the HSN wasnt doing any thing, then I noticed exhaust smoke from around the rocker cover MMMMMM then bang.
Does anyone know how heavy a hot glow plug is when its ejected out of an running engine. it landed in my hand which I droped on to the wing! SPADS do melt! it was getting dark time to go home......

Draftman, check my P38 built from EFs..The wing is way too heavy and now awaiting for some more damaged wings

The Nose wheel kept bending and droping the nose.
