Default 1/8 scale Focke Wulf ta-152

Ok guys decided to start my thread here since most know me from here anyway. Starting with the preliminarys here its in 1/8 scale with a wing area of 590 sq. in., 71.5" span, and a lenght of 53". Below are the drawings I have got completed so far. Second in order are the rough cowl plug on the lathe, 2) roughed turned, 3) cut to lenght, 4) rough shape, and finally flaps glued in place and sanded and ready to seal and prime.

Tim,

That looks like one of those slow Tommy Gun planes. Nice work, but you may want to look at a Spitfire or Mustang.

Nice cowl plug, Tim. I love the looks of the split flaps.

How many pieces are you going to have to make the mold into, so that everything will release?

Which engine are you planning on powering your racer with?

Hey Skids... It's gonna take guts to run amongst all you "Mustang & Spitfire "guys ,( yes I have one in the closet)

Iron Dog haven't figured the cowl thing out but I know there isn't any negitive shapes in it so it souldn't be a problem. (At least I think not lol)

For the racer I saw that picture in the new book I just got on the 152, and it said "Racer" all over it! Probably putting a YS 110 in it then when the 115's come out I'll just swap it out

Hi Tim, I really like the all orange paint scheme! Super visable... I thought the TA that you had a few years back was gonna race real well. I'm looking forward to your progress on this build and seeing this one swoop around the pylons! I'm hoping to have some new and different planes ready for the 2011 race season too.... Keep up the good work!

Hopefully in about two months I can offer short kits ot the ta 152 with the lazer formers and ribs with build plans. Fiberglass cowl, scoop, gun hood, and plastic canopy. Mind you this will be for those that have experince scratch building from plans. I am presently working on 6 projects P 51 A mustang, F8f Bearcat, k1n2 george, ki 100, me 262, and the ta 152. future plans are Sea fury, Tempest, Typhoon, he 100, and a U2 R with 153" wing

Yes, and I think that wing is going to surprise a lot of people! Can I ask which airfoil? Any washout? Add me to the list of very interested in a kit.

Vertical
To answer your question it is a 15.6 % at root to fit retracts and tapers to 10 % at the tip with 2 degrees of incidence and 3 degrees of wash out to help with the small tip (this is .3% out of scale so should look really nice and has 600 sqs)

I have been jumping around alot with what I'm working on here is some progress.

1) wing skins cut
2)top skins installed and gear blocks epoxyed in. Center left open for shear webbing.
3)Horizonal is built in clam shell halves
4)horizonal ready for skins
5)horizonal skinned and halves glued together
6)Elevator tack glued and balance tabs installed just need to cut out tips cut to shape and sand will update this soon.
