Gonna Fly my ash off...!
Getting excited about making the trip to Redding! We are going to camp out and have a great time cooking steaks and making Kick ass bacon and eggs! anybody else camping out for the weekend?

Gary,
I'll be heading up Friday morning, and camping out there, as well. It will be my first time camping out at a race so I'm also pretty excited to be able to hang-out with everyone all throughout the weekend.
Dave,
Lauren's original post stated, "We'll have Lunch and Pancake Breakfast for Saturday and Sunday." But, nothing was stated about dinners; and he's been silent about the event, since then. I plan on eating their lunches and breakfasts, but will come prepared for making dinners - just in case.

I don't have a caller, either. (But don't usually use my caller for calling my turns, anyway; so not that big of a deal for me.) Guess I'll figure it out when I get there.
I'm not used to calling Gold, but would be happy to help, if you need me.

Thanks Marty. It will be ready. I will be ready to mix it as that is the main goal. I will fly all three classes again as they are fun and the planes can be a bit more scale.
For those that was not there my little Tsunami finally started to move out. It has a YS DZ 70 on it and find the range of props it needed for my plane running 55%. I was having some issues with it going rich with a negative on the plane. The problem was that were was just not going lean enough on the engine. I will build a newer plane and hope to have it ready by Sept. this one will be lighter and smoother. Most have the 115WS figured out and I will show that the 70 can be just as fast also. These YS engines really are the best WARBIRD racing engines around. nothing comes close to them.

Hi all, I wanted to shout out thanks again to the entire Redding group that put together that amazing race! Also thanks to Richard at YS Parts and Service for his donations and support.
I have never had so much fun winning absolutly nothing. Thanks to E-Flight Electric retracts I had to race every heat but the last with my gear down. I finally changed both out and the last round I found out with some help from friends with stopwatches exactly how fast our KI-61 REALLY is. Congrats to all of the winners!!! I wish Redding was a double points race and they had (2) 2 day events per year. Take Care.

That really was an outstanding weekend!
The racing and camaraderie was as good as it gets. I really enjoyed hanging out with G-Man, AirRapter, Tom, and Don each night, as well as getting to know many of the Redding flyers even better. The view of the planes against the background of trees and mountains, the sunsets silhouetting the mountains each evening, and that incredibly star-filled sky at night were worth the price of admission, alone.
Marty, it was great to have you make the trek to Northern California to be with us, yet again. I know I speak for everyone when I state that your presence will continue to be greatly anticipated in future events. Richard and Ray, thanks for so graciously helping everyone with their engine issues, we certainly kept you busy.
A special thanks to Loren and Jim Smith: not only did you guys lead the effort with your club to host a top-notch event; but you were there for me when I had trouble with the stuck jack on my trailer. I really appreciate you (and Matt, too) helping me to get home. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner were all delicious, as well. Please pass on my gratitude to your entire crew that served the meals - and each of us - so well.
I was so busy dealing with plane issues that I didn't get to take pictures of very many of the races. But I know many quickly start asking for pics almost immediately after the event. I just started going through them, and it is late, so I can only post a few right now.

Marty, The absolute funniest thing you said to me all weekend was "I see your wheels turning now, I started dead last and ran this time and he started first and ran that time" I'm still laughing about that. Also dreaming about gettin me some more of them "Burnt Ends".
See you at the 2 day YS Race.

The photos that I managed to take during the event, have been uploaded to Picasa Web Albums, and are available for viewing at this link:

P.S.: Sorry about the spots . . . next time I'll clean my lens, first! Sergio, thanks for getting a few shots of my plane in there.
