Does anyone know there's a race next weekend? Just saying.

I did look over my Macchi around 1/2 hour ago. I suppose I should charge up the batteries and think about how I'm going to knock you out of that first place spot. Got my 40% Extra flying and have been spending a lot of time practicing for an IMAC contest in August. My thumbs are slowly coming back.

I've been madly working away on trying to finish a new Fw190 so I can return to Silver. Final sanding is pretty much done, and will start covering tomorrow or Thursday. Will still need to paint, clear, etc., after that. But, with any luck, I'll be ready in time.

Otherwise, all I've got is the dinged-up P-47 I flew in Bronze at Redding.

I plan to be out Sunday, helping Jim Altmeyer maiden his Mustang.

Hopefully you'll get specific responses from those you're most interested in hearing from. (I can't speak for everyone's specific plans - especially with this being a holiday weekend - but; if you don't, Sundays generally tend to be one of the most prevalent days for many of the "Warbird guys" to be out.)

Sergio,
Don't worry we know. Or were you trying to stir up that you are in the lead? We all know you are the reining 2014 SAM champ in gold.

All hail king Serg!

Thanks bud, it looks like I have everything I need at this point. I do need to get off my butt and fly the thing as I have not done so since the repair. Sounds like one more thing to add to my long weekend. Best of luck to you guys with your weekend practice, just remember Im showing up with my game face, I've not been in the top three before and I'm not going to give it up easily.

I was planning to go to Redding but something came up that had to be the priority. Always difficult to say goodbye to a good friend.

Jeff, You should bring that Q-40. Let's see how quick it is on the SAM course. 1:06 at Redding will fall here.

ok I could do that. it was rich there so should have been faster. Also that one is slower than the newer ones with the long stroke engines.

Shawn,

You might note Jeff's use of the word, "experience"; rather than the word, "expertise." Similarly, I gained "experience" at the Redding race rolling a Bf109 over immediately after take-off, at only four feet of altitude, and flying inverted just inches off of the ground. I flew s-o-o-o-o low, I managed to pick-up a properly scale-sized rock inside my canopy to use as my new pilot figure. Good times!

Well, I just registered for the race. It has been a long sabbatical, but it seems you guys need someone to show you how its done. Since I have not been there in a while I suspect I will need to make a hefty batch of salsa. Bartender, save me a Lynchburg Lemonade, I am coming to Sacramento!

Seeing that just put a big smile on my face. Great to have you back, Jake!

Now I really gotta get my Fw190 done. (Got her covered today, but didn't manage to get any paint on her, yet. Now I have to rush the paint, trying to paint a camo scheme, apply decals, and clear coat, all tomorrow. Even if I can pull that off, I don't see any way of being done early enough to maiden anytime before Saturday.)

I guess this thread was just a Sergio drive by. Oh well, he better have been practicing and spending all week making sure he and his airplane are ready. I have even instructed the family to not fraternize with him as he is the man with the target on his back. If anyone should see him let him know I'm gunning for his spot.
