Tim,

That is a focused and very achievable "GOAL", and I will proudly support you towards it, in any way I can. But unlike some of the others, I hear no mention that you have a "PLAN", too. Most of these Gold racers (and the Trashman) have one or the other. Of course, some of them fail to realize that, as someone once said:

I fear you will likely need both, or be at the same significant disadvantage as these guys who each share the same delusion that they are the one who is going to win it all.

"Mean?"
Now, J.R., you know I don't have a mean bone in my body. My comments are all simply intended purely as good-natured "ribbing" amongst close friends. A way to have some fun between now and the real fun in September. I fully expect to "get", as well as I "give!" (In fact I figured I'd better have some good flights with the Fw190 the other day, or I'd really hear about it!)

But to answer your question:

Of course I have a plan . . .

It's a bad plan,
and will probably fail
spectacularly . . .

. . . but it is still a plan.

That is why there's also a "Plan B."

I noticed you didn't ask me what my specific goal is. After all, this forms the basis for one's specific action plan(s), in order to achieve one's goal, right?

We would have to look at that at the end of the year. I will put that on the table when we have our CD meeting.

JR,
I'm comfortable with working on this.... how about Maximum Cubic inches at 1.90 with a wing area of 750 square inches?

Before we make any rules change, we should follow the procedure and discuss it at the CD meeting like we do every year. I am not comfortable on making changes until the races for the year is done.

Jr that makes since and sounds like the right thing to do. I think the rules were made before the YS 185 came out and when the 175 was there hence the 180 in the rules now. I would like to make a big YS bark in a big plane. now if they rules dont change then I will run the 175 which I think will still sound cool. I already have the plane to build for it. now just have to figure out if a APC 16x16 will be enough prop

It makes since but it would not be right for anyone to make a change in the middle of the season. I hope you understand but like I said before, I will bring it up at the end of the year.

Just to be clear the wing area/displacement chart was created prior to the 1.75 being in production. We capped the chart at 1.8 because at the time we felt that too much bigger in the engines and planes could present safety issues. We can consider after the season any changes. My personal belief is that we really don't want to change what is working.

Yes i know and not really trying to change it to much. Just want to be able to run the biggest YS engine. I really dont thing there would be that much difference in size or speed between the 175 and 185.

JR I agree to not change during the season. I see a bunch of 160-175 for sale cheap also. I may not even race just have a sorta fast scale warbird

If you have not got a Trashman confirmation for the registration, please let me know. I am completely caught up on all the registration. If you did not get one then that means I do not have your registration. Please contact me by phone or email.

If you have not register yet; it would be greatly appriciated if you would register as this is going to be a big and great race.

I am so looking forward to seeing everyone and having a fun weekend!!!!!

Thanks
JR
