Looking forward to seeing all of you as well! Yes, there are plenty of fish here, you just need to catch and fry them yourself...

Dan, have you lost your friggin' mind?!?!? Good Lord MAN!!! 3-classes??? That's a LOT of trash bags!!!

You and Scott have a safe trip to Cedar City pal! I don't fish, but I inquired on your behalf. Friends say bass at Newcastle Reservoir and rainbow trout at Panguitch Lake. You should have some sort of vessel at Newcastle and, at Panguitch, my coworker says; "Go down the first boat ramp toward the water and there's a road off to the right near the bottom of the ramp...follow that road along the shore and there's any number of good spots." (essentially, between the two boat ramps on the south shore).

Sincerely, Gomez / Ernest Shackleton / Roy McAvoy / Dean

Hi Dino.
What mind? I have no mind, but I do have a lot of trash bags. Gerald is trying hard to get me in GOLD. He even offered to provide 67 1/2 % Nitro. Not sure if I want to mix it up with the professionals yet, but we'll see. I do have 3 planes but Scott doesn't have room for them all. See ya soon.

P.S. I don't wanna catch'm .....I just wanna eat'm.

Dan,
67 1/2% that is good for the economy, Richard will appreciate that for sure.
If i have some of my trout left Ill bring it. I smoked a bunch up for my Elk Hunt

I have been running three classes for two years now and really isnt to much trouble. Just have to have a routine for having the planes ready. Most of the new fast planes dont need much over 50% to break out.
Dan for three classes make sure you refuel the plane you just flew. this way it ready if you get busy.

Marty,
Sounds like your gona make the race. That's great. I doubt if I'll take Gerald up on his offer using the higher nitro. I only have room for 2 planes anyway. Need for practice flying the line at
the higher speed anyway and don't feel comfortable at it yet. Turning about 1:45 on 30 % now but my line isn't consistent. Need more practice. See you soon.

Airraptor,
Thanks for the advise but 3 classes could be tough. Don't think my son is up to all the fueling ha ha.

Yes Dan
Im hoping to run 2 classes and race the new spitfire in silver. It is a Gold plane, but at 6000' it may be a tall order. Ill race my Vendetta in the Gold and Spit in the Silver. I even have my new strega I may race in bronze. i have asked my old caller to come out and help me in the pits, if he can make it, Ill do as much as possible in 3 classes.
Looking forward to seeing you all there.

I've learned checking the plug the hard way airraptor. Lost placing a couple times because of it. 6 days and counting.

Dan, Probably my best advice, regarding glow plug longevity, is to install them using just a 1/2 drop of the RED Loctite. I don't know why, but they really last a long time doing that. Must be a heat-transfer thing...not sure. Another speed tip you may be interested in???... use reverse-pitch propellers and start your 2-strokes backwards! Should net you 5 - 6 seconds over 10 laps EASY!!! Just before the race, try placing a roll of nickels (Quarters okay, if Canadian) between the rudder and elevator servos....certain to help. Also, I've found if you put just a handful of Lucky Charms cereal in a new gallon of fuel, along with PRECISELY 1/2 cup of WHOLE milk, those babies of yours will SCREAM! Don't forget....throw a few darts at that old fuselage of mine you have hanging in your garage for good luck! If you should want anymore free speed tips, just let me know...I think you have my telephone number and I have not yet blocked yours. I think you'll do great in Cedar City!! This should be a really fun venue ol' partner when you and Scott get here! Tell John, Steve, and Elroy to have a safe trip as well. Are you guys convoying? Dean

Hi Deano.
Boy I don't know what I'd do without you. I'm all out of Lucky Charms but I do have an Old box of Coco puffs. Will that suffice? Can't do the nickel/quarter thing though , I need it for gas
to get there. John and Steve will not be convoying up. Both have different plans after the race. Eldon/Elroy will not be racing this time, something to do with Michael Bolton music I think?
Hey, I haven't thrown on single dart yet! The fuse is still intact and only needs the firewall glued back in place. Easy fix if you've got an extra wing for it. I'll bring it if you want it back?
Thanks again for all the Advice Bro. You shouldn't have shared all your secrets with the racing community, but now that you have, maybe we'll have some real close racing. See ya soon.

Dan, You know me. No racing secrets. Nah, you keep the fuse, pal. I am hoping it provided motivation. Right, Eldon... thought Elroy didn't sound right. Yeah, fuel is nutso expensive. Looking forward to stirring some air (hopefully just ahead of YOU) this weekend with all my comrades!

Dean
Who makes that spitfire, and is there a wing available for it? Might just repair it and put a YS60 2cyc on it just for fun. Fuse is in pretty good condition, even with the dart holes , so let
me know if I can order a wing for it. Thanks. See ya at the race.

Hi Dan,

I forgot which version I CRASHED! It's Phoenix Models, though. Read on...

If it takes a one-piece wing (bolts on the bottom) its here: (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=PMMA0550&P=X)

If it takes a two-piece wing (utilizing a removable wing tube through the fuse) its here: (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=PMMA1550&P=X)

If you want Spitfire parts porn it's here: (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0008p?&M=PMMA)

I know it all adds up, but the latest Spitfire release is about $160: (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXEMWS&P=ML)

It's simply a superb airframe and, as you witnessed when the wing nailed the pylon yet stayed in the air until landed, very durable.

Ciao Amigo,
Dean

Hey gang, now that the dust has settled, (literally), I just want to say thanks for a great day of racing! Someday I am hoping to actually be able to schedule it around the weather, but all in all it was great time. It was really good to see everybody again and you guys make this all worthwhile.

A big thanks to the club and for the helpers, they did a great job as always.

For those who traveled distance to get here, I hope you all made it home safe.

Can't say thanks enough and congrats to the winners!

Great race Bert. RCPRO all the way. You guys run a great race and I can't wait to do it again. A special thanks to you and your better half for the great BBQ. That alone was worth the trip.
I finally rolled into Tucson around 12:30 a.m. but it was worth it. Grabbed a Chalada at the local Maverick (circle K) and crashed. Hope to see ya's in Chino Valley. Cheers.

THE OTHER KID.
