10th Annual Trashman & YS Classic Warbird Race (2nd thread)
#28
Congrats to the Trashman and his event workers for running the closest thing I've seen to a flawless two day race!
It was lots of fun in all aspects and good to be back in the competition.
See some of you in Fresno.

Thanks to all the Helpers, Sponsors and Racers to make this race such a hugh success!!!!! The race went on with very little problems. I would like to apologize when I got mad and threw my helmet. The reason I did that, I was stress because I thought I lost $700 and I realized after I got mad that I forgot to add in the checks and everything balanced after that. I had a dumb moment. I have heard that everyone had a great time and that is what it is all about and all the work that goes into these races, it feels so good at the end when everything runs smooth and you hear that people were happy. There was great and very close racing to make it very exciting. Again, Thanks everyone for your participation and help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats to the winners

Are there any videos from the race? Like YouTube videos ? I wish I could be there just to see the racing . I was not too far away in Gerlach Nevada flying high power rockets . One the these year this race and the rocket launch won't fall on the same weekend.

Pictures from Saturday so far.....
These are from Saturday. They should be in order from morning to afternoon. I have GoPro videos of all of the gold races.
Still uploading more. If you see a picture that is of you, and want a copy that you can get printed, let me know. I will edit it for you. Just send me a PM/email with the photo number.

Maybe you should prepare for the handlebars that are going to be mounted to your P-39.
Tommy asked me to get started on the fabrication of them for you. We are in agreement in thinking that they will assist you in improving your line around the race course.
Nice job on the pics Monkey,Thanks!
Is there an address to see the videos?

I have not uploaded the videos yet. I will start them tonight, and let them upload all night. I have about 20 videos from each day, so that will take some time to get them all uploaded.

My Feedback: (34)
Guys, this type of Warbird racing looks like a blast. Where could I find the airplane kits used, engines props that are popular out in Cali? I might build a fast racer for the thrill of: go fast and turn left again. I only did 1/4 midget and quikee 500 racers back in the early 80's. What a thrill.
thanks in advance for any info.

It is one thing to advertise on the website. It is another to flood the page and INFUSE the ads into the posts themselves. You know it is bad when it clogs up the website so much that it screws up the page format to where you cannot read the posts on your phone. When it is destroying the page there is a problem. RC Groups advertises, but keeps it in check better than RC Universe does.

It most definitely is a blast! Probably close to half the planes are the World Models .45-sized ARF Mustangs and new Spitfires. A few other ARFs are also represented: CMP Zeros, Kyosho Spitfires, Ki-61s, etc. (but these Kyosho models are no longer in production), the Phoenix Model P-51, and some others. Many of the planes are custom-built. Nearly all these planes require reinforcement sufficient to withstand the stresses of Warbird Racing, as we are usually doubling or tripling the recommended engine displacements.
The most popular motors are the YS 4 strokes. Currently available engines are the .70, and the 1.15 WS (Warbird Special) was specifically developed for this type of racing in the upper speed classes (Silver and Gold).
APC props are the prop of choice for the purpose of racing.
