Thx for clarity Dan.

Did you want to make a plug for the Redding race in June?
Seems it would be fitting as it happens sooner than the Trashman
Also racers remember to keep those entries coming in, consider some 3 pole racing when youre done with the warbird race. On Sunday they have the 424 (quickie) which is the slowest of the quickie classes. Then on Monday its the EF1 class, Tuesday and Wednesday is the faster Quickie 426 class, and finally on Thur and fri its the fastest of the 3 pole classes the Q40 or 422 class. If you are going to drive all that way for the warbird, you might as well get some more racing in.

I will be driving from the Fairfield, Ca. area on to Sacramento, to Reno area and on to the NATS. I will have a trailer and if you are thinking of going and on the way looking to split the cost with all going. Maybe around 200-300 dollars maybe less the more that tag on. Or take a group from your club and rent a Uhaul type truck and come on out as Warbird racing is a blast.

You are welcome to bring your own canopy as well, there is a spot designated for these. If your trailer or truck space is tight, the spots under the tent would be beneficial.
Also dont forget to purchase dinner tickets for the Sunday night Banquet when you register.

I am fairly confident that we will have enough space under the big tent for all of those only competing in the warbird event. If interested in reserving a space under the big tent please let me know how long you intend on staying in that space. The guys coming for 424/EF-1 will start showing up Saturday and they can move into their spot on Sunday if needed.

So far we have 24 registered entries. The weather forecast is 72 degrees with 23% humidity and light winds out of the east at 3 mph. Should be some great racing
Thanks to everyone who has already signed up. It means a lot for a fist year event. It will help the AMA see the value of this class, especially going forward in the future.
Dont forget to get your tent spot reserved, being mindful of the other guys racing in multiple events.
Remember Randy Ritch will be there to have your fuel you order available so you dont have to transport it.
Also help us support our sponsors so they can continue to support us:

Jeff,
Thanks for the update. I would prefer to keep all requests for spots on the NMPRA site. Having said that, if anyone is having trouble reaching me there, reach out to Marty he will be able to reach me.
Thanks<

Jeff,
I already have you reserved in a spot per Richard and Marty. I was posting here to inform guys that may see that the tent is full and be worried about not having a spot. I am confident we can accommodate. I just need to know those that are not staying all week and we will make arrangements. Right now there are some guys that have not signed up for any other events and have not reserved spots in the big tent. These are the guys I am trying to help.

Regarding me racing at the NATS...
Although, the warbird event is very appealing to me. I cannot justify adding another event to my plate at this time. I have been offered a plane and all I need to do is just show up and fly. I appreciate the offer but I just can't do it this year. I will be there on Friday, I just will not be flying warbirds.

You can justify anything if wanted to. Just enter a class and race as you can. Maybe bronze class would be best for you with your limited racing experience. I'm not sure if you can even fly a plane that isn't circling around you.
lol
Seriously, I have been asked to fly 2 classes and my response is always the same, "I won't have time".
It takes a lot to run a race, I couldn't imagine what your week is like helping to run, organize and ensure a week long Nats Pylon event goes off perfectly. Thank you for all you do for pylon.
It's probably best you not race any way, doubt you could figure out the course. You'd be over thinking the turns.

Well if I didn't know better that was a slap to the face!
You guys will do just fine without a matrix filler like me. And you are correct, I think I would forget how to fly when not twirling around in circles!
On a different note my first pylon race was AMA sport pylon on a two pole course, VK Cherokee, K&B 4011.
The NATS are getting closer and closer, are you ready?

That's great! I will be nice, and try not to pass your Vandetta with my $105 Chinese ARF! LOL I set it around 22,200 before it leaves. Just running 15% fuel so it needles easy. It amazing the thing idles like a kitten. It's an air valve carb that Dub originally designed for his 428 engines. I have been using it on my engines in some of my Formula 1's.

Too funny! I think it was designed for 80, so I figured 180 should be just right! LOL It's basically a stock wing that has a wedge that is glassed in to take the dihedral out. The 3421 servos are laid flat in the wing, and the non-retractable(lol) gear mounts are beefed up and cleaned up. I also cut the gear wire down, and used the super slim foam wheels. I was going to use Q40 gear since it uses such a short prop, but too much surgery required. July is coming fast! It has a different firewall, carbon spar in the horizontal stab, and the scoop cleaned up on the bottom. Should go atleast 90 now!
