We have changed a few things in the rules for safety reasons. Please read the rules very carefully.
There is two main changes:
1. We will not allow intentional breakouts. You must try and meet the breakout time and If you intentionally breakout with excessive speed, you will be warned then disqualified from the race.
2. The breakout time are change to:
Bronze: 2:30
Silver: 2:00
Gold: 1:30
Also please take a look at the dates as the dates on the Nitro Madness and the Trashman & YS Classic has change due to conflict with the McClellan Air Show.
I am looking forward to seeing you all soon!!!!

What's with the Breakout time changes? Everybody was getting used to the new times, and now we are going back to the old times? What Gives?
Also, not that it was ever a problem for me with my slow planes, but how the hell are you going to prove if someone is intentionally breaking out? You say they did it on purpose, they will say otherwise. I can see that argument going nowhere fast.

I will be explaining the whole thing in our April race. For right now, I am asking all the SAM racers to leave it alone on the forums out of respect to me. There has been a lot of stuff happen and lot of stuff done to get these races going and I really don't want questions on the forum as typing words can be taken a million ways. Like I said, I will go over everything at the first race and answer any questions at that time.
For right now, just get ready for the old breakout times and lets have fun.
Please everyone, if you have respect for what I do and what everyone does for these races, you will wait to go over all this until April.
Thanks for your patients and courtesy,
JR

Not trying to stir the pot JR, just looking for clarification on the issue. I can wait for an explanation in April, no sweat, but questioning authority, and its intentions, is part of my DNA. I guess that's just the History teacher in me. I didn't know asking the questions would ruffle some feathers, but in all fairness you had to expect the questions to come up within discussion board, if not from me than someone else. In the big picture it matters little. Everyone that wants to race is gonna race and have fun.

JR,
Thank you for all that you do for the racers! You have helped grow racing in Northern California and supported other clubs whenever they have questions or needs. I can't wait for the season to start. The new times will be a challenge for some of us who have raced safely for years under what will now be considered the "old times" going forward. Thank you again for all the hard work you have put in on behalf of all us as racers.
All,
Looking forward to seeing you all again soon at the SAM series. I can't wait to get those warbirds out and start flying the dust off them.

Lots of hard work for this season I know Jr. I just hope everyone appreciates that they get to race this year.
I too am bummed at the new )old) B/O times. The AMA required me to use the higher times for the Nats as well. Not my choice but hey at least we are racing.
Thx for all youre doing to keep racing going strong bud.

Thanks JR,
Any word on pictures?
I'm going to try to get the little bit of video I shot posted this weekend.
Also, I had a neighbor who wanted to shoot photos at the race prepping his shots.
